Why why were we so good in cups ?

What a fantastic evening and one I'll remember for ever. I won't be able to go to Wheatsheaf Park now without being reminded of it.

Although I shan't fully calm down for a while yet I was thinking last night in the bath - why have Slough been so good in cups this season. We;ve had better players and better teams in the past but we've never had a "cup" team. The mix of youth and experience has been very good, but we;ve had that before. We've had lots of home draws which helps, but we've often pulled the cat out of the bag when we looked doomed - Walsall, Thurrock, Salisbury, Cheshunt in the Bryco. The spirit in the side in excellent, much due to an excellent management team. And, of course, there's those bloody marvellous fans.

In the end it just probably comes down to luck but what the hell. Last Monday was the thirtieth anniversary of my first Slough match and whilst i've seen us win leagues and be top of the Conference I doubt we'll have another season like the one just gone.

Just why were we so good in cups?
