PLEASE CHANGE IT! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/biggrinangelA.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/bounceblue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/biggrinangelA.gif" alt="" />

I imagine the price is based on the production cost and sales. Do we want a cheaper programme that is subsidised or do we want one that pays for itself, leaving funds for Gary and Steve to spend on players?

As for the content, I'm sure Gibbo would accept contributions that are interesting and of a reasonable standard.

As far as I know, the price is going to stay the same. <img src="/forums/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" /> As many others, I do agree that there should be more in it as there are too many adverts but they HAVE to be in there by order of the league so there isn't much we can do about it!

We are still waiting on the player profiles as well!

This was discussed a couple of weeks ago.

The programme is dealt with by a small committee - I think any criticisms there may be should be directed to said committee.

Content is provided by the club/committee so if there are suggestions then see point above.

There are indeed a number of stock pages that have to be included, adverts, stats, league news etc.

However look at the quality of our programme compared to others in the league and I think you will find it is of a higher standard. It won an award last year and if you look at the design work it is superior to other clubs block colour designs.

I may be biased and I am defending Mr Wood until he can have his say but why not ask questions of the club directly as it is their publication (here endeth the rant).

Don't think anyone was blaming Lee Wood or indeed anyone at Queensway.

I remember posting a couple of programme feature ideas on here about a month ago, and no-one seemed too interested.

The adverts are essential - not sure of the bit about league regulations, but nevertheless they are a vital source of income.

Do agree the cover needs updating, but if there are to be interesting articles in the programme, someone(s) needs to write them.

I always agree with you HelenC, except on this occasion. I don't thimk you will find anything in the League rules concerning the extent of advertising in the matchday programme.

I never agree with CZ, except on this occasion in part. Advertising is a vital source of income.

I always agree with mdtaylor except, in part, on this occasion.

Thank you AFF

The advertising is indeed required - Ryman adverts, football league trust ground development or whatever it is etc all have to be included and will stay in the same place all season (even football league clubs have this requirement).

As for the cover you will have to ask Mr Wood

See thats exactly what I was trying to say mdetaylor. There are certain adverts in the programme, like the Ryman one, that have to be there. Thats all. Most of the others bring in sponsorship for the club, money to use on players etc!

The front cover could do with updating and Webbo if you want pictures, get onto Eamsey. He did say he was going to do a profile so he should have all the pics you need.

Heres to tonight <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif" alt="" />

Eamsy has no quality photographs of any current St. Albans player. I can only put in the programme what I indeed get sent. As for the cover design, the club selected the present design from the five that I produced. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple, even for the more 'well educated' Saints fan. The Club has no official photographer and the Observer won't let me use their photos so what do you exactly suggest I do? The club does not pay enough to have a four colour changing programme each game, that's why only they only have a changing text overprint placed on stock pages. There also HAS to be at least eight league sponsored advert pages placed within the programme to be placed along with any which the club has themselves. Failure to have the said ads would result in a fine for the club.

some good ideas about the programme - however actions speak louder than words .Why not take your idea in person to John Gibson or steve eames and see if they will run with it? if accepted it is not difficult to type the article and email to lee wood , it would take you about 1.5 hours per programme in my experience.

I will join you in the queue saturday outside the board room.
