CONGRATULATIONS

Recommended Posts

So, the League Championship is all but over with a few Saturday games to play but we must offer sincere CONGRATULATIONS to ENFIELD TOWN on a magnificent season( and four years) that has kept everyone on their toes to the end. Perhaps, despite very worthy performances in the League, the highlight could well be beating AFC Sudbury ! The result of the F A Vase will tell. Their ground is a total transformation from my original sighting in July 2001 and everyone involved on those Sunday parties are to be commended. The support have given us all the most exhilarating entertainment both in Metropolitan and Rural Essex and you have been a absolute credit to the League. We now wish you the very best of luck in the Southern League ( ? ) as you throughly deserve it and would just like to reflect on also congratulating Burnham Ramblers on a brilliant Runners-Up spot, Waltham Abbey,, so strong before Xmas , in third, Barkingside fourth and Romford 5th. Not taking away any glory from all the others that make up this very proud League ( When the F A allow me,in a couple of weeks, I will explain what I mean by that remark ) these top five have been an absolute joy to watch and report on . I hope the Cup Final goes well but, in the meantime look forward to meeting all the Townies on Saturday whilst my Vice-Chairman will do likewise at Burnham Ramblers.

AN, wouldn't start with a T and end in an S would it? There will be pistols at dawn!! That's what comes of being on the Romford page too much!

As for merging next season, lets not jump the gun, lets wait for our good Chairman to announce it properly, when he is able.

Regards - MB

Sorry "Towners", just a wee slip that I could not resist ! .. no offence meant, please do not confiscate my bread pudding tomorrow !!!! oh and by the way, you are all to fast on the uptake that I have to say straight away that there is no "merger" in the air, the comment about the FA was about something else, that frankly, is miniscule in proportion.

Just like the Ivory Woodpecker. Apparently that has just re-invented itself too.

What next Dodos and Great Auks? Mind you the Woolly Mammoth is still alive and well and lives on Canvey Island, but is only seen between the hours of 3pm to 5pm on Saturday afternoons. I think Mr Attenborough should be told!
