Oh, you mean like 'ricochet'....

Okay as a starter, FACT, we were denied promotion to the DrM's Prem due to a technicality over seating (believe to do with numbers) at New Lodge.
No fault at all of BTFC just that the Dr M and Ryman Leagues had different regulations regarding ground grading...okay?

You were denied promotion not because there weren't enough seats at new Lodge at the time, but because they were in the wrong positions. The DM league at the time required that the "main stand" have a certain number of seats, whilest the Isthmian's just required that thet ground have the correct number.

At the time there were three areas of seating at New Lodge (the pac-man stand, behind the blunts wall rd end and the old wooden stand opposite the buffet bar.) The latter two were merged into the seating area opposite the dug-outs now which became the DM "main stand" (this also led to the portacabin as DM boardroom joke...) allowing you promotion. Of course the vast numbers of Chelmsford supporters helping to cement in the new stands so they could get promotion were conspicuous by their absence....

Oh dear, touchy touchy Simon and inishing yet again with another dig...and after what appeared on the face of it to be a reasoned posting....

As I put, it was to do with numbers of seats -which is as you have also reiterated. I never said there were not enough of 'em!! Strange as it may seem to you, I've been quite au fait with the layout at NL for many a season now....

An interesting point of view from the independent candidate.

During our travels a couple of years ago I found myself at Edgware talking to an official of Wealdstone FC. Long story short, he was telling me what an unhappy relationship their ground share had been on occasions. Move on to a visit to Maldon Town and they were speaking quite harshly about their experience of playing host to Chelmsford. Our own experience of Romford playing at Hornchurch had plenty of tensions.

The truth is that groundsharing is a marriage on convenience and no more. The tenant needs a ground of a certain standard to continue to play at a given level whilst chasing a dream elsewhere. The landlord banks the rent money and hopes to screw a few more pounds out of the bar. Make the most of it, its an income stream that runs off down the street with its [****!!****] on fire when the tenant moves out.

Don't feel bad of either side of this dispute. Just look for the first chance to make the break and get on with living your life in the future.

Yep, agree with that. Just seems to me BTFC fans moan at us more than we do at them - believe it's known as having opinions....

Kevin, I would agree to a point that we do as you say "moan" but there have been comments from the CCFC supporters on your message board, news articles and letters to publications complaining about New Lodge and it's facilities in the past. Don't act all innocent and shrug your shoulders like your supporters did that Tuesday night when questioned about their behaviour behind the goal after the game. You're far better than that.

In the case of the "Rod Moore" years, I would agree with you that the facilities were a bit "shambolic", as work that should've been done, wasn't. Each summer, a small army of Blues supporters pitched up and did a spruce up job...when we looked, lo, no CCFC supporter was there (and if you mention that one or two pitched up for an hour on one Saturday...well, that is a labourers "tea drinking" excersise, matey boy...not work). Even your so called groundsman doesn't help keep the pitch in good condition. Just shows up on Saturday and puts the divits in...there was a time when there was a meeting of the minds between our groundsman and yours...

So, what we have now is, a ground going through a program of rejuvination, people from 'Ricay doing their best and helping with the work and a proportion of the CCFC support acting like ungrateful pricks!!! And I bloody know they do, I've been on the end of a moan up about the new PA. If the person knows so much, why didn't he step forward and offer assisstance? With that in mind, you can understand why the majority of the 'Ricay support wants CCFC to [****!!****] off and die some where quietly...As for me...stop moaning, get yer act together and sort your ground out. If you can't, stay if you want to but if all you (not you personally) lot want to do is moan without offering any physical assisstance (lets put it this way, the "rent" is a smaller cost than what you'll be paying when you have your own ground), then, my reaction would be the same...if you don't like it, [****!!****] off. No one asked you lot to stay. In fact, because you're staying, there are certain things in the pot regarding the redevelopment of our club that we can't do...

Kevin obviously you dont read postings properly. I said nothing about you missing prom re seat situation but that you needed an A grade ground to share and we obliged.

Now try this for size. what would be an acceptable rent per game for providing ground facilities preparing the pitch for matches cleaning the ground after games cleaning the dressing rooms covering the additional electricity and water costs and paying for pre season pitch work to ensure the pitch can stand up to 42 games rather than 21. Get your guys to cost this and give a guess on this thread and we will see how close they get to the actual price. Also work out how much that would be if you had to pay all of it yourself in your own ground. I dont think you woill find you would be better off financially but much worse even with the additional support you might generate. Gate receipts do not cover football costs.

well if it was me I'd kick 'em all out sharpish....bloody 'johnny foreigners' trampling all over the place and moaning...spending their money in the pub down the road from the club so ricay can't benefit from it...ruining the pitch with their hoofing great punts on match days

reminds me of all those ghastly skint holiday makers that go to skegness every year and spend two weeks moaning about everything from fish and chips to the stains on the boarding house bed sheets...

but they still go back every year....

kick 'em out I say...start a poll....

that'll do it...

Steve's your man....no doubts about that...sooo, best of luck for next season which should be N'South.....on form at least...and, tell you what, pledge me pint and I'll come down one Saturday pre-seaon and help out with some the sprucing-up...you on for that..?

So Kevin none of you lads feel like putting a price on groundshare. Whats the problem frightened you might put a realistic figure and find you have been getting it on the cheap for 7 years. By the way the 7 years was a league requirement we were assured you would only be with us for 3 at most. Funny how time drags on when you are trying to find a home and while you are looking nobody ever wants to look after the one they are renting.

We welcomed you 7 years ago and still have extended that welcome so get your lot to stop moaning and put a bit back into the club that has helped you survive. One day you might get your own ground til then help make the best of where you are.

That's right Kev, go on the attack when you don't have an answer...Del isn't a bitter individual and it's your lot that generally do the whinging...about the supposed lack of facilities and the "ramshackle" ground they are "forced" to play at!!! (not inclyding you here)...

He's just asking a question...

stop fckn around Gaz and send 'em on their way to braindead....cheeky fckers were trying to get Leebo to take 'em in at a reduced rate....

apparently he's learned how to count so he saw the light....rumour also has it that Braintree wanted 100 grand insurance cover on the dressing rooms in case ming the merciless and borgie met up in training .....

send 'em to Romford....they need a ground sharing partner....

Eyessight gone (yet) again, Gazza? Asked an easy question of 'delboy'... so what's the supposed attack in that.....?

oh yes, made you an offer didn't I...so don't give me all that b-lox about non-help from folk....how about a response or totally lost your manners ?

...and yet another cracker from UU....hilarious

ain't the word for it....

Yep, that's right...you still haven't responded to my offer, have you Gazza.......so you can hardly keep carping on about no-one ever offering any help pre-season at NL...

As to you, 'delboy',...sure ain't 'frightened' of anything you have to say...why should I be?

Financial arrangements on behalf of our club and BTFC is for the relevant club officials to decide upon...or do you not agree on that?? Not being a club official it's not down to me how much is or isn't agreed and doubt I will ever find out. Not a clue what a going rate is for any particular land facility.. be it a church hall or the Millenium stadium... so where exactly would you pitch a rental figure for NL..and on what basis ?

Come on, try and have a sensible debate rather than keep on sniping, d-b...
