16-18 year olds who slipped through the net of the pro clubs, [who give out schoolboy forms with the free Farleys Rusks as new Mums take new babies home from hospital], and sign up for a three year course at Hertfordshire University where they learn how to become Managing Director of Fitness First or some such major international sporting conglomerate in the classroom, and at the same time receive 14 hours of tuition from a U.E.F.A Grade A football coach, in this case Steve Castle or his assistant Chris Zoricich.

 

Someone told me that the club receives £500 per student per annum as well as other expenses but I'm not sure how that bit works.

 

Anyway. They play on Wednesday afternoons, last season at Harpenden Town, next season at Fortress Clarence Park.

I thought after he spoke to Cambridge and turned them down he called Lippy and said he wanted to sign for next season

Neil Gough. Now he was a player. Did well at Heybridge in the play-off game but other than that, I've never seen someone cover as much ground while on the pitch and never touch the ball.

 

Jamie Parsons had a lot of potential. I hope he's fulfilling it.

Heybridge as well, the only real blot (apart from a couple of loan strikers) on Lippy's record.

Hardly a blot, EFMTMTV. CL had to sort something out a bit quick prior to the transfer deadline, what with our various suspensions and Elphick also being unavailable at the time. Getting 4 players in, in that space of time, was nothing short of miraculous, in my view. Most managers wouldn't have managed one, let alone four.
