r and b and hippidy hip hop big willy stylee pop a cap in your white ass rubbish music is imo attractive to chavs, goes with their "hoh ho yo yo" im hard image. see them driving around in their novas listening to it in their best argos speakers. And also nodding their heads at the corner shop listening to their "phat" choowns.

Give me a bit of queen, the killers, or embrace anyday. Virgin radio, the best thing about living out of medway, get it on fm, not just mw. BRILL!!

Well in my school its something like listen to rock you're a grunger ; listen to rap you're normal I.E a chav; anything else means you're just weird

same thing happens in my school. I personally don't stereotype people like that but I've been called a grunger many a time simply because I like Nirvana?!

Yeh they pretend to like it so they can get respect from their mates but in reality they like all the s***** commercial stuff that comes out. Take Babycakes for example, never liked that tune, did my head in. Classic example of a commercial chav loved garage tune. Heard a lot of chavvy kids, mainly 12 year old girls loving that <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> And take So solid crew and Dizzee Rascal and all them dicks, loved by chavs. They listen to them and think they're hardcore garage fans or something. But in reality they don't know the first thing about the scene and it's origins and how real garage is actually an evolved version of house music.

For example, who here stereotypes and thinks anyone that listens to garage, hip hop etc. must be a chav?

My 16% per cent chav beats the lot of you! I have to say I feel the effects at school: light blue hoodie things every non-uniform day, being called a faggot for not walking around holding my genetalia fnd threatening to pop a cap in someone else's ass...

I am so glad that you pointed that out! The early house music rules!

I don't. From a slightly commercial note, the Deep Heat series was excellent & unlike today's compilation albums, was full of a lot of non-commercial music. I have them all & they take pride of place in my cd collection!
