Lengths of suspensions

Recommended Posts

I was playing for my sunday team a few weeks back and i got sent of for calling the ref a f#@king cheat. I took the red card gracefully..... until i was told that my ban will be 35 day...... and will affect me playing for my senior side when it starts next season ! !

can someone please explain to me how Lee Bowier get a 4 match ban for an on the pitch ruck with one of his team mates. David beckham got a 3 game ban for telling a lino 'he was the son of a ho@r' but i could potentially miss 10 matches ! ! !

surely ban's should be the same, no matter what league it's in ?

Pure Ledge, you got off Lightly mate, last season i was playing for a Dog & Duck side on a sunday, the match was against a group of friends, anyway them being my mates knew how to wind me up, anyway half way through the game they took it a bit too far (and it didn't help that we were losing) so i took my frustration out on the ref no swearing just sarcastic remarks anyway as a result the referee decided to book me he asked for my name to which i replied "Mickey Mouse" he asked me how to spell it so in a light hearted gesture i replied "M I C K E Y Mouse" still the frustration was there so i decided it would be a good time to sub myself in fear of receiving a RED, anyway a week later the manager of the Sunday Side called me to say the yellow had been upgraded to a RED and i would recieve a 70 day ban, which meant i missed the rest of the season plus up until October the following season this happened in 2003/2004, seems as though nothing has changed!!

My advice give up Sunday football the refs watch a totally different game

Notwithstanding the reasons for your ban, I have been fighting on behalf of this league along with my colleagues in Step 5 for three years now to get a level playing field in terms of suspensions - the biggest anomaly being in the F A Cup where two players sent off could end up with a 35 day for one and 1-3 matches for the other with the latter all played in one week. We are very hopeful of the FA bringing the new structure in by next season so can only ask you to keep your finger's crossed that it will come off. We always live in hope in this game and I could not agree more that the present structure is an injustice.
