Without checking the details, I wonder if a similar scenario will occur in Holland and Italy a la the last-placed qualifying team. Then again the whole set up is immoral in my eyes. Finish fourth and go in the Champions League? Don't get it. Worked well with the Cup Winners' Cup since 1960 so the only reason it was changed was because of pressure from the G7/14? clubs. This of course could have been made worse, by the fact that Man Utd (PLC and for sale) wants the big clubs to be seeded all the way through.

Why the hell have a competition in the first place? Just give them the money and let them play lucrative friendlies in the far east.

Talking of which I am sure that Vodafone have had some say in their newly-announced tour to Japan. Bit like Nike allegedly forcing Ronaldo to play in the 1998 World Cup final.
