Couldn't agree more Bart - The defence looked a shambles and we struggled to deal with anything in the air. We badly need a centre half to replace Micky Bodley. Davidson is a good steady player and Dobinson looked good in the friendlies, perhaps they should be given a chance. Beno wasn't good enough to get on the bench last year, how comes he looks like a permanent fixture this year ?

Can you tell me why we replaced our 2 attacking players on saturday when we were try ing to win the game, they looked like the only ones likely to get us a goal.

Paid my first visit of the season to Canvey on Saturday. The first time I've ever paid over £10 for admission and a programme to a sub conference game.

For the extra cash I would have thought maybe Canvey could have paid someone to water the pitch every now and again. It was like an "end of season" pitch, hard dusty/sandy, and given that Canvey try to play a bit of football, this pitch will count against them.

Can't think the new players look any better than the old ones and Bennett is a huge liability. Didn't like new man Bertie's habit of giving up when he'd lost the ball. Scott Forbes energy especially in the first half was exceptional. A worthy m-o-m.

All in all definitely not worth the extra 12 and a half percent increase.

as far as I remember in the past two years when succesful the players still with us who have been succesful at the back are

<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />

Ash. Crow. Cheners, Wardy and JK (when played from the right back slot)

<img src="/forums/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />

Crow can play LB OR RB or Sweeper

Cheners is a CH and should not have his lack of pace and flexibility exposed in wide positions

Wardy can be played RB or CH

with the above lads plus With Ollie now on board surely Beno can revert to his best position of mid-field

Well I may sound a bit controversial here, but our midfield has not been the same since Stimmo left us.

As much as I think Greggors, is da man, is he really captain material? maybe chenners should have been given that role?

or at least a player controling the game from the back rather then from the front.

We certainly need more control in midfield and I do not see Greggors as a natural leader, (sorry Greggors).

Boylans not getting the balls delivered from the midfield and benno, well say no more!

The players are there, but just aint clicking is it!!!
