Thame United 1

Ryan Spencer opened the scoring for us, with Thame levelling just after half time.

Adrian Browne secures the win in injury time.

Deserved the win, good build up to our 1st goal.We seemed to let them come at us in the 2nd half which could of cost us the game.Adrian Browne got up well to score the winner,he didn't enjoy it much did he,looked good beside Daly at the back.Hooray we're in the 1st round.C'MON SLOUGH.

Good greif we won an F.A. Cup game !!!! Made bloody hard work of it as at half time we were well in control and should have been 3-0 up . They equalise and we became poo . Battled though and Adrian Browne was rather pleased with the winner as were the 100 or so travelling army ! Up the Rebels !

Really pleased with today's result. Forgot what a win in the FA Cup was like after Lewes and Tonbridge Angels!

We did make hard work of it though. We should have been at least 2-0 up in the first half hour. Second half we did not wake up and they took control and grabbed an equaliser.

Good team spirit again though in a match that turned a little scrappy second half with both sides not wanting to lose. Pitty about the scenes at the end, but both sets of players were getting wound up and it did always threaten to boil over.

Good support as well. Nice to see so many new shirts around - and yes I know I have not got one - yet!

Great scenes when Brown scored as well - bet he's beeen waiting years for that goal.

The good news is hopefully Metcalfe will be back Friday(one match ban?) and Wilko. Ant Howard and CJ can't be far away as well!

I'm ecstatic with the way things are going. Unbeaten in the league, and a great chance of progressing in the FA Cup. Maybe we could even get to play league clubs, which would be great. And this great start to the season is another reason why we need this stadium - the team is showing real potential.

I also have a query. Someone mentioned above that we are in the First Round..... is this the 1st round proper?? I thought we had to play more preliminary games.

If only we were in the first round proper. We are now in the first qualifying round. There are four qualifying rounds to overcome and then it's the first round proper with nationwide teams from div 2/3.

Adrian Brown played centre back along Steve Daly. Barras moved into central midfield from left back in place of Metcalfe (suspended) and Ricky Browne played left back until he was forced off injured second half and was replaced by Paul Reed.

Just to say lets not get too carried away St.Leonards will be a very hard game and we don't have a good record against Dr Martens Eastern sides (Rugby!!!!).

Rugby & Tonbridge.....

Anyway, it's a relief to get into the first qualifying round! Hopefully we can have an easy draw all the way through, but there's never an easy game at Slough

Thought we were awful for the majority of the game yesterday. Sammy clearly wasn't fully fit and wasn't closing and harrying as he has done and why Hale was replaced instead of him was a mystery.

Was pleased for Adrian Brown especially when he scored, you could clearly see how much it meant to all the players.

But all that aside, once we scored the first, we were very poor Paul Barrowcliff excepted.

We'll need to improve a lot for Friday for the game against Uxbridge.
