Will Boretree throw their last game?

Do I sense the crowing Ricays supporters unease at the Braintree supporters humility in accepting the Ricay team have proven since easter they are the better side! It confirms what I've said all along on this board you guys swagger along as if you're something else and set yourselves up for a fall and when that comes its nothing to do with the oppositions endeavour, just u didn't turn up on the day or other excuses.

The rear end of the season has under-lined one thing, going professional has paid off. Just look at the soaraway Grays athletic to bear that one out. I reckon Ricay are head and shoulders above everyone else, they only need to turn up to get promoted particularly as you're unbeatable at home.

I haven't read any swagger on this forum from 'Ricay supporters...more like the Braintree support...until Easter when the rug was starting to slip from under the teams feet....

And using "the team didn't show up" isn't and wasn't an excuse...for the Braintree result, it was a fact. But that is all behind us now.

Where does it not say we cannot encourage, praise and enjoy our teams success? Only you come on here and comment on our swagger...And from 12,000 miles away, I find that a bit rich as you're as far removed from our teams (and yours) performances as you can get....

As I said to once, jealousy isn't a nice trait but I'll take it as a compliment...

Gazza no probs with the praising of and enjoying of your teams success its the unnecessary excesses I'm referring to, you know the suggestion that IRON would throw a game - too serious a suggestion to be amusing, anyhow the slight prospect of a home final should dispel any thoughts of that happening. Poor Mark Flag hounded for being himself. You call it banter in reality its bullying. When I posted stuff having a shot at you and your club you turned on the acid, got real personal about it all. Am I worried? I'm stubborn and knew I could bore you all to tears with my long winded replies. Others let it all go right over the top of them, then there are those who are more sensitive and for them what should be a bit of innocent fun turns into a nightmare.

Yes I'm a little bit envious of Ricays form of late, why shouldn't I be? But to me its only football coz I'm also a bit envious of Yeading for being champions and Sunderland and Wigan being ahead of my beloved Ipswich as well, but the bottom line for me is I don't begrudge others their success. I recognise that in sport for every winner there is a loser and you can't be winning or losing all the time, the participation in a sport is the most important part of it. What counts is how you are able to control yourself after results.I first visited this forum to see how you guys reacted to a bad reversal and to say the least, it was interesting . Now you're on the up and what we see is also interesting and yeah mate when you're too close to the action its like being in a fog you can't see a thing.

With regards to being 12000 clicks away whats that got to do with the price of fish? Hello! this is the age of technology I get to see and hear most of the same stuff you do via the electric media and Royal mail, matchday progs, newspaper cuttings live radio even the occasional match video when one is done. The only difference is live access to the games. I met numerous West Ham fans in Essex (we all know them) they rarely go to Upton Park but that doesn't stop them having a view or their right to access and post to CC league or hammers forums. Be fair.

A lot of common sense talked on here (that can't last).

Ricay are, of course, the form side and, against each other, we've won one game each this season (one slightly more convincing than the other, but I'll move on).

But form and result will go out of the window in all three play-off games. It'll be down to who wants it most and who can handle the pressure.

A cynic may think that all this talk of Ricay being favourites is a ploy to make us crumble under the pressure.

Saying that though, if the play-offs are gonna be like a cup game then surely we do have the best pedigree this season.

IW does love to play "mind games"...I wouldn't worry about his opinion...he only has one "wind up" line and that is "5 - 0". Obviously can't move forward from January.

As for sensible comments...well, if he wishes us to have the same lack of humour displayed on this forum that is on the Boretree one, he is sadly out of luck...

They say that the "play off's" are a lottery but I have always favoured the "in form" team...

We've beaten Braintree,Eastleigh and Hampton at New Lodge this season, so as long as we maintain our form and discipline and remain patient in the games, there is no reason why we can't create chances at one end and keep a clean sheet at the other and I would back our forwards to convert a fair % of the chances created.

I'm sure the bookies will make the team who finish 2nd the play-off favourites... 3rd placed team 2nd faves etc (That maths GCSE is coming in handy once again <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ).

I certainly got the impression from hearing some of the injured players on Saturday that they quite fancy the opportunity to try and put the record straight against Boretree... But then I dare say that Hampton will feel the same after 2 defeats, should we have to play them.

I would fancy our chances of beating Braintree if we played them in the playoffs. The fact is it was a 3 team title race until they bottled it and couldn't take the pressure and fell off the pace, so can they take the pressure of a playing in a play off semi-final or final? It will be interesting to see. We have been the favourites in most of our matches this season and have handled it well on the whole.
