DAISH!!`

We have given him a chance - He is utter pants! Lets get someone else in for pre season. Of all the names touted about for the job why we chose him i will never know!! He has no tactical knowledge and he hasn;t got a clue. No wonder they called Havant and Waterlooville - Haven't a clue ville when he was there.

Lets Move forward not Back!

I know he did but honestly does he have the tactical knowledge to save us next season. I know we had a gruelling schedule but we had no desire or passion

I have doubts and to let him loose in the transfer market, well!!!

Superb - I think Fordy or any other manager could have matched or bettered Liam's results. In fact, anyone could have saved us from relegation considering we only needed 2 points from when Andy left.

With all the progress and success going on with the club, off the pitch, it will be a shame if the manager, team & results ruin it all, next season. Hopefully LD will turn things around but I just can't see it at the moment.

Agree about the transfers in the fact that he keeps playing siggy and at the moment roy's better then him!
We needed more then two as we got the wins against scarborough and tamworth then we were safe at york

well he did save us from relegation - under fordy we were heading towards the battles.

Check the fixture list...he arrived just when we were about to play the sides at the bottom of the table.
March would have seen us safe whoever was in charge.
Other than Scarborough, who have the worst away record since away records were invented, Daish hasn't won against any team that finished above us in the league.
Oh and we were also still in two cups when he arrived.

Perhaps he's been desperately trying to see if Siggy can demonstrate that he can be a competent striker in this league. Now that he's given him plenty of opportunities, at least now we can be absolutely certain that he's not going to be the mythical '20-goal-a-season' man.

Exactly - superb's 'logic' is based on the scenario that the teams in relegation trouble go on to win all of their games, which of course didn't happen.

Er, try to remember the difference between 'touted for the job' and 'actually applied for the job'.

I don't think Liam Daish takes too much credit or blame for this season, it was Andy Fords team and as ever it was good in parts and cr*p in others.

Next season will be down to Liam and I think it will be a tough season, not particularly because Liam is in charge but because the sides coming into the league look to be stronger than those going out.

It will be interesting to see who is retained and who is signed before the start of the season but as we presumably still don't have the money for any big name signings I think a lot may depend on what players we can get on loan.

The last two seasons we have used loan players to good effect this season we have not. One effect of going full-time should be to make it easier to pick up loan players from some of the more senior clubs in the area who are loathe to let young players go to clubs who only train two evenings a week.

Dont necessarily think the teams joining the Conference next year will be that much stronger overall than those leaving.

Cambridge aren't in a great state at present (could well be another York?), and Kidderminster (almost certainly the second relegated team) dont sound like they will be the strongest ex league club either. No reason why they should be any better than Barnet an a n other.

Yes - Grays look like they will potentially do well, given their exploits this season, but Cup success against Conference teams isnt the same as winning games week in and week out. I accept, mind you, that they are almost certainly gong to be stronger opposition than Leigh/FGR/Farnborough.

I cant see that the side getting promoted from Conference North this year will be any better than a lower mid table side, seeing how compact and closely fought the division is. Likewise, the playoff winning team is likely to find life tough in the Conference National.

The last few games have certainly undermined feelings for Liam, having been generally lacklustre, but then again, there were reasons :-

1. A number of fixtures close together

2. Injuries/ suspensions to several important players.

3. Nothing to play for, except pride and contracts for next season (ok, so contracts for next season should be a real incentive, but that isnt always the case)

Siggy's record before he came to us wasn't bad, and lets face it, when we signed him, most on here were positive about it - its very hard to believe though, that he once played for France U21. I know that was a few years ago, but it cant have been that easy to get into that level of football for one of the leading European countries, and yet there was almost no sign of that ability in his games for us (even the "goal" he was given for us was clearly an own goal).

Surey has been slated on here for his performances recently - certainly yesterday his once assured and accurate passing had gone completely. It seems his mid season injury problem had a major impact on his performances as he was one of our better players before then, and , after all, had even been selected for the England Non League squad. He clearly has the ability - its just a question of whether we can get him back to his best.

We obviously need to look at the right back position next season - I guess Proths would play there as first choice currently, especially if Gleds has to leave, but will need additional cover there.

McCarthy, Porter and Bunce are all decent enough Centre Backs, albeit that they lack somewhat in terms of pace, and seem to be rather injury prone.

Skins seems to be a solid enough left back - again, though, we need proper cover there as Jacko and Lovell are not true left backs.

The other thought is that, whilst as individuals our defensive players seem solid enough, we've still conceded too many goals, so the overall issue seriously needs addressing.

In midfield we lack an outstanding creative player to spark things off if we're struggling - some may argue we've got Drury, and I agree that on his day, he can look good, but he hasnt done it often enough . Assuming he's offered full time football, that may well improve his game but even then, I'm not totally convinced that we might not be overly reliant on him.

The rest of our midfield is generally a hard working, grafting type of player (Macca, Jay and Jacko in particular), which leaves Lovell as the only other potential spark at present.

Its up front though that we really need to get something sorted,as has been said many a time this season. Lets just hope that full time status allows us to be more competitive in this market in particular, as its hard to see how we can justify keeping Roy, Siggy and Pinno.

Liam Daishs' Black and Gold army...!!!

Next season will be 'OUR' season... I can feel a Sky deal coming and some lovely silverwear...

Shame we will no longer be able to sing...

1-0 to the part timers....!!

Good luck to those players we lose, and welcome to those who are brought in...

I had a little chat with Liam in the bar saturday and asked him some question's, he seemed confident on what he wants and also stated that some of the players are going and they know who they are.He also said of the striker problem, that is the one area that will be addressed in the close season. After talking to him i was left thinking that there are major changes coming and he is a man who knows what he wants and will do his best to get it.i will wait and see how he does next season with the players he brings in, before making judgement, but he answered all question's, and came over as a very nice man.

Let the pre season's activities begin............ <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

IMHO, I feel that anyone who has played at 'top level' is more than qualified to build a good team and manage them effectively... someone said earlier in this thread that the current team is not Daishs' or Kimbles' and right they were too..

Next season will a big test for the club and Daish, with full-time focus and a new set of players, these combined can only help us to improve and move forward.

I'm personally looking forward to seeing us progress and finish top table (and play-off's) and hopefully that will entice more local support to the ground so that GNFC become more affluent and stronger as we head toward league football.. (hopefully, in the near future..)
