What makes a good coach or manager in the ESL?Why would a good coach think he would be a good manager?.What good qualities should a good coach or manager have at this level?

respect from everyone would be crucial, so he has to achieve something quickly if he becomes manager

As i have stated in previous posts,Managers should manage and coaches should coach,just because a coach is good at coaching doesn't mean that he or she will be a good manager,managers and coaches should stick to their own roles within their club,problems arise when coaches think that they can do the managers job as well as doing their own coaching role.

I think the main thing a manger needs is respect from the players and the ability to get the players as one big group. There must also be a good bit of banter in the changing room. A group of average players playing as a team is better than a team of superstars who cannot play together. Everton is a prime example.

ok, communication skills are key.

 

a manager may have the greates ideas in the world but if he cant convey those to the team and get his point across exactly as he wants then he does not stand a chance.

lthere was the story about a ht team talk ranieri did when he first joined chelsea via a translator. after the translator had said what ranieri had told him to tell the english lads zola had to stand up and say hang on a minute he said nothing like that!
