The end of season fast approacheth and every other site seems to be doing them so here are ours. Please list your choices in the format provided. Anyone veering from the suggested format gets to spend the summer with Harry and superb.

Goal of the season - Roy v Exeter

 

Player of the season - Jay Saunders

 

Performance of the season - Carlisle Away

 

Best team played this season - Barnet

 

Best player played against this season - Chris Lumsdon

 

Moment of the season - beating York 4-0 and laughing at their "on loan to the Conference" comments

 

What one thing would you improve next year? - sign a goal scoring centre forward

Goal of the season - Roy's thumping shot against Exeter.

 

Player of the season - Jay Saunders

 

Peformance of the season - thumping York at home

 

Best team played against - Barnet

 

Best player played against - Liam Hatch (hate to say it but full-time training has made him a far better player)

 

Moment of the season - wasn't there but it has to be losing against Bishop's Stortford when going 2-1 up in the 90th minute!

 

Improvements for next season - STRIKERS, defenders STRIKERS, ground..... er, did I mention STRIKERS?

What one thing would you improve next year? Someone finding that amazing knack that I've only ever seen in Steve Portway as a Fleet player: everytime he got the ball in the box you expected a goal, not a hesitation or a miss.

Have you been on the planet Mars? Hardly a month goes by without some posts being made about the problems with the programme. Try these:-

1. Spelling errors being rife including the names of visiting players.

2. Complete absence of punctuation in some articles of which Wicksy is the main culprit, eg running 3 or 4 sentences into 1. Your friend Mick's piece in a recent programme was also full of obvious mistakes. However, some articles rarely if ever have errors eg Jessica. This shows that the authors are left to vet their own efforts as individuals and are not proof read by someone else. This is a mistake.

3. Factual errors eg in the last programme mixing the name of the mascot with her pet dog!!!!

4. The results table is a shambles giving incorrect scores and in some cases attendances.

5. Often strange layouts for the visiting teams club history showing a complete lack of editing skills.

6. Look at some of the other clubs programmes for the content. You get an immediate impression of professionalism which certain sections of our programme lack.

 

I am sure that others could add additional constructive criticism. I would also like us to include club honours in our programme which have been absent for several seasons and more emphasis on past meetings with the team we are playing in each programme. kmj.
