NHL didnt occur this year but picked up a couple of AHL games.

 

Bizarre thing is , that the players striking in NHL can play in AHL if they have only played one season of NHL. So I went and saw the Edmonton Roadrunners.

 

Real cool when a Bowyer/Dyer style punchup occurs , everyone watches and does nothing until someone gets knocked to the ground. The tannoy guy also plays the theme from Rocky and they show fight highlights at end of period.

 

AHL is the lower league yet still attracts 11,000

Cor now I wish I could be back there. Crap rugby team though, we beat the edmonton pirates 81-0. What a mall there is there though? Makes Bluewater look like lakeside.
