According to my calculations if Jimmy Jackson plays against Burton on Saturday he will equal Sam Chambers club record of 386 league apperances for the club (can you confirm if this is correct Dave) and if so what a tremendous achievement for a loyal and valued servant of GNFC

Of course, Jacko had already cemented his place as a Fleet legend, but around Christmas-time this season, after a costly mistake against Accrington amongst other things, I was worried his comeback was going to end on a sour note.

However, over the last few weeks his performances have improved markedly in my eyes - impressing at Farnborough particularly.

Well done, Jacko.

How about the Jimmy Jackson Plough end ?? A nice reference to Jimmy's

"day job" !! A ha ha Ha HA !

...in fact, there could be many money spinners in naming or sponsering parts of the ground.....

Let's have some suggestions.....

I'll start......

How about the "trap" in the mens bog in the bar being called the Hirsty Suite ? as I usually spend some time in there after a few Strongbows/Friday night's curry etc....in fact I think they should open another one !!

Cheers,

Sorry about going a bit o/t here but I think what Hirsty said is actually a very good idea. As we're renovating that stand over the summer why not get it sponsored? I'm sure there's some good money for doing that sort of thing. I noticed Dagenham had sponsored stands.

That's not sponsorship though, is it? It's just naming the terrace (not stand, I remind you pedantically) after a Fleet legend.

As it happens, I'd rather the terrace were named the Jimmy Jackson terrace than carrying some corporate name, regardless of the potential financial rewards.

Im in Edmonton (Alberta not North London)and its Wayne Gretzy mad here. Statues and motorways and stands and cocktails named after him.

So a Jimmy Jackson Stand sounds good to me.Works well here.

Will be back soon. At least Ill get the end of the footie season as over here its Ice Hockey ,Ice Hockey and Ice Hockey. Oh and its a little embarassing when they play the Canadian National Anthem and then show you not singing it on the large screen TVs.Wasnt popular with the locals.
