Worrying if true

If you read the BBC Kent page about this carefully:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/4468251.stm

Then there is no date for us on this! The 31st May and 25th April both refer to Northwich Victoria. There are just a couple of shoe horned in statements:

"Gravesend and Northfleet must also prove their ground is fit for football."

and

"Gravesend must also complete renovation work at Stonebridge Road to satisfy Conference criteria."

The dates refer to the singular i.e. "A delegation will inspect the ground on 25 April..."

and

"The club knows what it has to achieve by 31 May..."

So what is the deadline for our work to be carried out?

Little bit of perspective needed now people, were not going to be kicked out of the conference. Brian is a very clever man he knows what he is doing. This story is fueld by the bbc sport team having a slow news day along with the "hopefull" Forest Green fans.

The ground meets the nescesery capacity required for Conference football, 4,000. The club said this when the stand was closed.

The capacity has not been altered due to the closure of the Northfleet end. The capacity is determined on how many people you can get through the emergency exits at any one time, not how many people can stand in one space. So the closure of the stand has not affected any of the exits so the capacity remains at the required 4,000.

do they club always announce lower attendances for tax purposes or something?

But attendances don't tell you the income from the turnstiles, since the attendance could be made up of any proportion to children to adults.

I think I'll wait for the club to actually receive official notification of this alleged deadline from Moules and company before worrying any more about all this.

Jesus, given the usual old nonsense bandied about on forums, you'd think he'd let it lie! I was one of the 'guilty' ones, but I said it as more of an aside than a serious statement. They're dead sensitive, aren't they...?!

I think I might once have said detrimental things about Dino Maamria and Adam Miller were. Do I have to apologise to them too...?

I think the official website needs to clear this up.

So if I put exactly the same words on the website as i posted further up this thread, then it would be more believable is that what you are saying.

There will be an official statement after the meeting at the ground on Tuesday.

BTW CG who on earth is Davis Moules? I suspect you might mean John Moules his better known brother, if so then he is definitely not the villian in this matter.

It might be a bit of fun for you but you lot are dragging the FGR name through the mud which is offensive to me as a Rovers supporter.

I see FleetFanatic is quick to slag us off on the confguide but not man enough to appologise on there.

(FGR Chairman Ken) "Boulton who admitted that they had also contacted the Conference about Gravesend's ground"

You are right an apology is required but I doubt that you will be back to give it.

He is not our Chairman, Trevor Horsley is.

OK fair enough it transpires that our Chairman has indeed been in touch with the league.

I appologise profoundly.

But you might note the 'also' bit that David quotes above.
