Just a thought, by finishing in 2nd we get two home games right? But our recent home form has seen us win one, draw three and lose one of our last five at New Lodge (excluding Chelmsford "away"!), whereas we've won our last FOUR away games on the trot, scoring FOURTEEN goals and just conceeding a dodgy penalty in the process. Where do we have to finish to get away play-offs please??? I blame Gazza's music <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Of course not, we want to finish as League Champs. But if that’s not to be, then it has to be second.

 

Any other Ricay fans want to finish 4th or 5th...I thought not.

I know the rules are there at the start, but at what other level of the game does a team that finish second not get automatic promotion?

My tongue was, naturellement, ever so slightly inside my cheek when posting this - obviously, like Justin, I believed it was still quite possible for us to win the league, thats why I went to Slough when others didn't. And after the big 6-0 I believed even more ! It is still mathematically possible, but...well...we might just struggle now, so of course I WANT us to come second - finish as high in the final table as possible, get two big crowds at New Lodge for two glorious victories and claim our rightful place in Conf Sth. We should of course do better at home with another monster crowd behind us - I was just highlighting some intruiging stats that might work in our favour on the offchance that we don't cement 2nd spot. I've already moved my quiz night at the Pilgrim from Tues to Wed for that week and made my childcare arrangements accordingly to show my confidence in the boys. Also, I'm sure TC will have recalled that there's better prize money for 2nd than 3rd,4th or 5th , n'est pas ?! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
