Great News!

AFF

Recommended Posts

After the news during the day, announced exclusively on Rob's web-site, of the appointment of Colin Lippiatt as Manager next season ["his services have been retained" was presumably, an attempt to ensure that excitement didn't go too far beyond fever pitch], it was announced just before last night's match against Grays that Lee Clarke and Paul Bastock have signed and committed their future to the Saints for next season.

Great news.

Brilliant news, sad enough to that its made my day. I cannot wait until next season as I think its going to be a very good one at that, unless everyone leaves at christmas (seen that many a time). Anyway well done CL for gettin the two best signings done and dusted. I take it the rest of the squad should be more than willing to follow now.

As Rob guessed ...more did follow.

Martin, Seeby and Davis have signed "contracts" and committed their future to the Saints for next season.

Soon be ewe, ewe and ewe .... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Any way well done to Mr Lippiatt. Will he start on the rest of the club now the first team looks well under his control ??

Contracts for fans, CT? That would be an innovation.

[i should mention that I have had one of those days where it has just not been possible to fit 15 hours into 8. I scanned the sports pages of the St Albans Observer this morning and I thought I read a quote from Colin Lippiatt that he had not given up thoughts of a return to playing football on a full time basis. I did a quick double take before I realised that it was Lee Clarke.

Anyway. An interesting interview with Gibbo, as well. Full value this week. And no reference to a riot to be seen.]

Hi Mad

The only bit I can remember of Gibbo's interview is him saying they only took £600 on the gate at the Redbridge game but paid out £4000 in wages. That's obviously the worst case but you don't want too many of those in a season.

Friendlies? Early July I would think. Keep checking the website for news. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/attentat.gif" alt="" />

No more than 95% of the prima donnas in the Premiership. To be honest, I'm not really bothered. It is very evident to me that he is probably one of the best playmakers in the Conference South. I can only think that you weren't at the Lewes game on Bank Holiday Monday, for example, to see his performance there or you would not be making the comments you are making.

Prima donnas in the premiership, rather than prima donnas in the Conference South though Nos. Saw him at Hayes, in the HSC final, Havant, and Margate too. He may be one of the best playmakers in the Conference South, but his diving doesn't help. But then footballers are like that, I suppose.

Cheers for the info, ye your right, dont want too many of those. To me its seems Gibbo has killed off everything down the park. Yes I am grateful for what he did, but there is no atmoshpere down there any more. No songs or sing alongs, just the old gits shouting the same thing. I can remember the days when there used to be a real buzz about the place. Lets hope next season will be better.
