Chelmsford 2-1 Billericay

Yep, agree nothing much of the subtle with Russ but he has had a good career and now pushing ever further into his 30's. He was pretty disappointed after that last game so did expect him to compete

better last night. Lot of desperate hoofing both ends of the pitch in the last quarter.

Bit surprised you'd opt for Mel but there again football provides lots of differing opinions. To me he doesn't look at all comfortable on crosses (depends more on the defenders?) and he punches when he should catch. So saying, made a couple of strong stops late on which probably kept the score down.

To be honest I would echo you comments re crosses for Nicholls. A good stopper, but has looked suspect coming off his line in both games. Got stranded a couple of times in no-mans land last night, and needed to be bailed out by defenders.

So far as you defenders go, the best on show was Thomas. No coincidence that you looked a lot more solid when he stepped back into the back 4.
