But kind sirs,we have had all this out before,if I register my name, but kept the same opinions, you would still protest, because of the blinkered views you have.I AM ONLY TELLING IT AS IT IS.How you can condone a team who loses 6-0 at home, then goes away and draws with the top team in the league, and then tell me they were trying in the 6-0 defeat-I THINK NOT- I was there I think i know the difference between triers and non-triers, and those that can play and those that can't.
I used a form of "text speak" only because I understand that I AM TALKING TO YOUNGSTERS WHO REALLY HAVE NO PEDIGREE IN THE GAME.
And yes you were right SWINDON TOWN F.C.
Finally do you mean " go away and reflect" or would it not be better to "genuflect" and get god on our side ?????????

Dear Optimistic,

It is a shame that you always deliberately misunderstand what is being said to you and this leads me to a number of conclusions, the main one of which is that you are not a Slough Town fan at all and just post on here to wind people up. In fact, I am not even sure you are a football supporter, full stop. If you were then anybody who has played at the professional level, (and let's face it Swindon Town isn't much to shout about), would have a little more respect for his part time brothers.

You keep going on about not registering - we don't say that we would agree with your opinions, all I am saying is that you are too frightened to reveal anything about youself, because you know you are just posting scurrilous rubbish to wind people up and don't want to be publically named as doing it, or to have fingers pointed at you at the next match.

You refer to our "blinkered views". What are these exactly? I am also puzzled by your use of the word "condone". Most of the views I have seen expressed by fans whose devotion cannot be challenged, in no way suggests that people are happy with us getting knocked out of the FA Cup, the Trophy and not doing as well as we would wish in the league. But what they do show is a reasonable amount of human understanding that the manager and the team are doing the best that they can. It may not have won these competitions, but given the number of matches they have played and the rate at which they are playing them, for part timers, we can understand that they won't succeed at everything all the time. What part of doing their best do you find unacceptable? How did you get treated at Swindon, (if you ever really did play there), when you lost but were thought to be doing your best? You do meet teams that on the day are better than you.

Finally, you obviously think that playing for Swindon qualifies you to educate the rest of us who are ignorant about football, as you indicate in a later post, so please do your credibility a bit of good and at least tell us what you won with them, so we can see what a real expert you are.

Finally, it is a bit weird invoking "god"- it is only a game and from what you have said about the team. "our" side is an even more weird term to use about a side about which you actually don't give a toss!

So, I repeat, go and reflect on what has been said to you and instead of just being negative all the time, (you must be hell at home!) look at what you can do to help improve the situation. I hope that you have sponsored the Walkers, and how about sponsoring a match ball - then your opinions might have some small relevance.

Well said as always Andrew.

Araas, I think some of the later Optimistic posts may be imposters.

Andrew( is that true name or just a registered name-how would I ever know-see my point?)

So I know nothing about Slough, okay let me ask you a question please.

Slough versus Skemerdale 1969 what happened to the great Liverpool player Steve Heighway just after the second half started. If you know this then you are as big a fan as me.I rest my case.

I fail to see what this has to do with last night's match. I rest my case.

Opti, that match was played in 1969 so to have any real memory of this you would probably need to be a minimum of seven at the time. Therefore your proposition is that you are only entitled to support Slough and have an opinion if you are at least 43 years old.

Horseshit.

im 17 and it appears that i can judge the current team better than you can without a past knowledge, i remember very little from my rare occasions visiting the park back in the old conference days, but i still know what im talking about when it comes to the current lot

not quite sure why i bother to talk to morons like yourself-but as always lack of an education allows you to totally miss the point YET AGAIN. but let me simplify it for you-my support of Slough Town was being questioned-and i have just proved that i have been supporting them for many many years, so am entitled to an opinion-talking of horse [****!!****] did you come out of the same a*s*hole.
no dont bother letting me know-thanks.

Now, you really are becoming laughable and I am not letting you get away with such a sloppy answer avoiding the issues. Yes, Andrew is my real name and my full name is available on this forum if you bothered to check.

I never said you know nothing about Slough - I said I don't believe you are a Slough Fan, just somebody who likes knocking the Club.

And why won't you answer any of the questions I asked you? You have made great play that you know all about football having been a former pro player at Swindon. So, what did you win? Which team did you play in - they are not difficult questions if you want to show you are an ex-playing expert. So if you can't or won't, I suggest you are just a bag of wind.

I readily admit to being a (relatively) new Slough fan of less than ten years, and I admire the memories of John Tebbit and the guys I sit with in the stand who have supported Slough through thick and thin over 50 years and more. It doesn't stop me from being a supporter or any less of one for that.

So I am not going to play the knowledge game with you - who knows maybe you looked up the answer to your question anyway, although anybody who had, would know that the club in question was actually Skelmersdale. But why don't you want to be positive about the club? Have you sponsored the Walkers for example - yes or no will suffice! Do you want the team to be successful or are you just a destructive knocker who gets his kicks from putting the boot in on the Club?

okay the original point was how can one team lose 0-6 at home to the second placed team in our league yet draw away to the champions elect. I still fail to see what this has to do with a 1969 game against Skelmersdale, so optimistic can't even agree on the point being made and is therefore full of crap. I rest my case.

In the not-too-distant past I've asked Optimistic a question about how much progress the club can hope to make after he/she had a go at the club's lack of desire and progress; I didn't get a reply. How are we supposed to believe he/she is not just here to wind us up, which is what seems to be happening for a lot of fans on this forum.

I've only being supporting Slough since 1999. I have no idea of what happened then. Does that mean I'm not a Slough fan?
