Behind the goal or at the side - YOU DECIDE!

When we're at home, and typically not competing with many away fans, behind the goal works ok. When we're away, and have the opportunity to stand under cover at the side (assuming no covering behind the goal), I think we should take it. The support tonight for the team was superb.

Behind the goal ! no question....

Our team then knows where we are.....

and who going to give the keepers stick !

Up the rebels...

I think it was better in the first half under cover really loud, but I didnt think you sounded so loud at the side under cover. I know that sounds daft but it didnt sound any louder than when you stand behind the goal without cover. It might be because the first half cover had corregated metal back.

you would get my vote for singing under cover as you sang much better in the second half vs us under that sheltered bit behing goal infact i cant even remeber you lot in the first half all i can remebe is the celbration of being 3-0 up by halftime the game im reffering back to is eastleigh0-4 slough

depends on the ground and not just the cover behind the goal.

For instance in a play like Yeading with one side without any cover at all the side is best imo. However in a place like Staines which is more 'built up' around i don't think it would make to much difference. Although going into the stand abit like the Eastleigh lot would be rather fun!

We have an appalling record when stood at the side and I did not think the sound was overly improved yesterday. Certainly behind the goal with covering we were much louder but did not have the same impact on the touchline. I also prefer being nearer to our goal mouth action. But I will pander to the majority unless I am too knackered to stand in which case I will be in the stand.

OK--- i may have been swayed last night but only because i had the opportunity to have a 'polite word' with the linesman from 2 foot away about how if a player tries to rip another player's shirt off its usually a freekick-- i was polite and informative

As someone standing on the opposited side of the pitch I would have to dissagree. There was much more noise projected out from under the covering in the second half than is normal when you stand behind the goal.

Yeah but what I meant was in the first half at Yeading under covering and behind the goal we seemed louder than we did in the second half at Yeading under cover on the side.

I don't dispute that we were louder in the second half than we would have been under an uncovered goal.

I agree with Martin, sounded much louder in the first half. I stood behind the goal for the second half and you didnt sound any louder to when you stand behind the goal with no cover. Maybe it depends on what sort of cover it is.

Sorry
