Team for tonight

Recommended Posts

Tonight's games would have originally been the final games of the season and played on a Saturday if the Conference hadn't cocked up the dates of the play offs. I feel that given the long distances most clubs have had to travel for a mid week game. a number of the results could have been affected by this. Certainly there were some unexpected results. The administrators of the Conference should apologise unreservedly for their mistake. It is particularly harsh on part time professionals who have other jobs and fans who like to travel away. kmj.

WE CAME - WE SAW - WE WENT AWAY AGAIN.

What can I say about Exeter? Not a lot that hasn't already been said. It is a city as it has a HMV, A Game store and two yes two Waterstones. Why two? Anyway couldn't see any sign of a Cathedrial or University. Well I say couldn't see any sign the place was flooded with kids, hundreds of them and thats all Exeter is, full of kids.

The Grounds nice with big stands on all sides except behind the goal and we weren't in that small bit behind the goal, we were at the end of one of the terraces beside the pitch and we had to sit.

It wasn't two bad though as we were with in spitting distance of the Exeter "singing" fans. I say "singing" as they were the only ones singing. And guess what there wasn't one of them old enough to vote on may the fifth they were all young. If you ever wondered where the pied piper took the children after he took them from their parents, it was Exeter. They started the singing only for one of our lot to give the signal for the drum. When the drum started all the young'uns jumped out of their skin as if they were quietly sleeping only to be awoken by a war cry.

The banter was brilliant and I can only hope it come over well on the commentry they sang "who are ya" we sang "GRAVESEND & NORTHFLEET", they sang some song about "everywhere you go, people want to know" while we sang "Just a Small town in Plymouth". When they scored they did the mandatory "Easy Easy Easy". Actally scrap that, every time they went in our half they sang "Easy Easy Easy".

It must be some kind rule in the conference that to play league football you have to beat Gravesend & Northfleet. In the past six days we've played three teams hoping to make the play offs and they've all told me there'll be playing league football. Whoever it is it won't be Exeter they gave the ball away to much.

Luke Moor came on and looked lively and given a better run in the team could well have scored. Roy and Siggy didn't play that bad Roy was for some reason pushed out on to the left again, but the team overall was just outclassed.

I suffered some serious Deja Vu throughout the evening as well. Firstly I was joined by some young guy who I had seen before, he didnt look any older than twenty but just the way he spoke it seem'd like he been around a while. I saw him at another game but can't think where. He didn't seem to be with anyone and didn't look tall enough to drive. After the game he said he was going to find a pub somewhere. He wore all blue and a Wycombe Wanderers cap. Like I say I had seen him somewhere before but can't think where. Anyone know him?

Also the Fleet supporting family from Devon. As we returned to the car we saw a family of Fleet fans who seemed to take delight out of the fact that we had a long journey back and they didn't. No they didn't really they were actually very nice but again I feel like I'd seen them before.

Oh well back on the Hemp it is for me.

What was the team plan for last night then? I noticed earlier that Daish took off Jukebox on 57 minutes, and then put on Jacko and Pinno for Siggy and who ever else (can't quite remember). Do you think that this was to save them for the final game of the season, or had they picked up knocks and added themselves to our arm long injury list.
