Andy's Testimonial

Recommended Posts

the old place don't seem the same without Andy around, sure we will get used to it.

But it seems a shame to me how far Andy took us , and his continued theme to make us more professional , that we then announce we will do it the season after he goes.

Well said, JC. A rarity, I know, but we are agreed. Once Andy had resigned, he was a free agent to take his skills where they would be appreciated. Whether he will stick with Stevenage is another debate.

He gave us the best years ever at Fleet, history will remember him accordingly. I for one want to pay my respect to the bloke and show him the esteem in which I will always regard him.

I can only assume that Bill Kent is one of the dopy old buzzards who loiter near the tea hut slagging off every player, so long as they are in red.

Why else would he make such miserable comments about Andy?

As for me staying in Medway, where I chose to live is of no relevence to Bill. To my knowledge, many of our regular supporters, including many "high up" in the trust live in Medway. What it does demostrate is that we are loyal fans, prepared to travel a few miles to see our club.

BTW I was born and bred in Gravesend and have been a regular for 38 years. Has Bill Kent?

Couldn't they get Steve Portway interested in coming along and coming on for the last two minutes?? that might draw a few of the FA Cup run fans along.

Nothing to do with Andy Ford, but an all time great player for this kind of end of season show.

Dave, I just found out that I have been sent on a residential training course in Watford that week, and will be unable to attend.

As the oracle of all things Fleet, will souvenir programmes be available after the event, and will a DVD/video of the match be available, (all profits of course to Andy)?

Since I have started coming to games regularly again in the last three seasons, Howarth is without doubt the mosr consistently committed player that I have seen.

He may not be the best but would take him over Roy and Sigere on pure effort alone!

Ben's alright as well but I could never get past the mullet!

I'd like to see Ben back permenantly, and Rob wouldn't be a bad addition either. Let's hope they both impress on the night.

I suspect it will be hard to judge their current Conference competence on one exhibition match, but I suppose it's not impossible.

Ben Walshe and Rob Howarth have now agreed to play for the Fleet team.

Francis Duku is on the Middlesex Wanderers tour and Darren Smith is getting married, so neither of them will be available.

Thanks very much for the update, Dave.
