Buzz? Always retires after one season in the Conference when I play Championship Manager! You can never convince him to stay either...... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

My guesses would be:

Smith, (although he's featured a bit more lately so has probably been told to earn a place but he is 34+ now).

Chenery,

Ashley, (once again though I don't think he'll 'leave' possibly spend a season out on loan or similar).

(This could probably benefit young Jason Hallett too)

A couple of surprise departures are probably on the cards so maybe we could see the last of - Tom Williamson (has he REALLY been given a chance or is he still a bit too young?)

Neil Midgley, (Could argue a case similar to Smith's though)

Dobinson, (I'd like to hope that he's offered a new contract depending on his back condition). One of our Strikers could depart too.

But with reference to this threads title, which players should we do our utmost to keep at Park Lane for next season?

You should always have a rock solid centre of the field, from Centre half to Striker this should be your strongest area. In this case we need to keep Boylan, Seggie, and Theo. Minton possibly if we can keep him fit. Keeling needs to stay but we need a stronger left wing player. Maybe shift Duffers back to left back and move Dom into the middle. Right back is a bit of a grey area. Possible candidates include JK and Buzz but I think an addition here would be excellent. Up front me need a strong, fairly pacey and tall Centre forward to play with Boylan. Thats about all i think.

All this is based on 442 (Which in my opinion we should be playing anyway)

Anyone got any other thoughts?

Agree with you about the players we should keep, also i feel mcghee is an important player to keep. we need a gregors type player upfront but a younger version.

If we were to play 4-4-2 i would like to see JK play right back, duffers play left back as this has worked well when we have tried it this season so Keelo can do what he does best and attack.

Only prob is that will leave the right wing position open as i feel midgley is a good player but drifts in and out of games to much so maybe that could be a position we should look to strengthen.

Michael Husbands has been released by Southend. Very tall pacy forward, was quite inmpressed with him when he played against us in a pre season friendly this season.

Agree that J.K would do well at right back.
