Grays

Recommended Posts

I know that this has probably been posted before, but how did Grays' ground get up to the required standard? Bearing in mind the work that we had to do to ours, and bearing in mind what their ground looked like in the 01/02 season. the pitch was like Broomfield park and there was non existent terracing(a few steps either end). How does this ground hold the required 4000? Are they renting out the flats as executive boxes?

Now now, lets not get all tetchy about Grays Athletic. Forget the fans, ground, clubhouse, floodlights etc, its all about which team will come out on tops. Clearly ours is much better than Grays. Isn't it? After all Grays, like so many other hardened football hotbeds surely must be quaking in their boots at the thought of facing Gravesend and Northfleet next season? Stonebridge Road the mecca of football of football.

Me thinks that we are more concerned about Gray than welt on, why the hell raise a thread on them here, now? Don't matter about their ground or why or how it got clearance, we will face them next season. Oops!

Who cares about Grays? I don't - like Canvey have this season, they will struggle next.

Salary cap, the gap from conference south to conference..... it will all show.

What salary cap, even when the Chester chairman admitted that he was ignoring it because he didn't agree with it no action was taken.

As for the gap, that would be true for most of the conference south sides but I think 7:0 against Burton would suggest that Grays won't do too badly next season.

I will be amazed if we finish higher than them next season.

Hmmmmm.....didn't Canvey spank a conference side 5-0 in their promotion season?

Trophy games mean nothing - it's doing it over a whole season.
