Where are they now?

Recommended Posts

Rock Steady & I were reminicing in the bar before the Sawbo game on Saturday & were reeling off diffrent players we have seen down the years & that we had in the last week or so witnessed live on Sky, Paul Underwood playing for Luton & all being well playing in the 2nd highest league in the country next season & Mark Bentley playing at the Millenium Stadium for Southend Utd.

I was wondering if anyone knew the "where are they now" scenario of any of the following:

Ian Cooper

Martin St.Hilaire

John Bailey

John Richardson

Andy Pape

Paul Brush

Jimmy Carstairs

Gary Blackford

Greg Heald - Rochdale?

Lee Marshall

Paul Cobb

Paul Hobson

Lots of others but all the above had stories which made us laugh.

I was wondering if anyone knew the "where are they now" scenario of the following:

Ian Cooper - Waltham Forest
Martin St.Hilaire - semi-retired, believed to be turning out for Harold Wood Athletic
John Bailey - retired and living in Bournemouth
John Richardson - Chesham United
Andy Pape - retired
Paul Brush - youth team manager somewhere, Orient I think
Jimmy Carstairs - retired
Gary Blackford - last heard of at Margate, but retired I think
Greg Heald - Rochdale? (Yes)
Lee Marshall - Hull City but currently injured
Paul Cobb - Tilbury at the beginning of this season
Paul Hobson - retired and living in Australia

Hope this is of some help

John Bailey appeared at Wembly in a play-off final for Bournemouth. Unfortunately, he had to retire due to injury although I did hear that he was playing non-league somewhere on the south coast.

John Bailey is playing for Lymington Town this season (not sure whether they are Hampshire Premier League or Wessex League Div 2). He moved there from Lymington & New Milton in August 2004.

BTW, a player not in the list is Grant Cooper, who signed for Hornchurch in March. He was at the Enfield v Enfield Town Vase game and said then he was hoping to sign for Shamrock Rovers in the January transfer window (he was with Dublin City at the time). That obviosuly didn't happen!
