Provs out for 4

Recommended Posts

according to the BBC Provs is out for 4 games after his sending off, so he misses tomorrows and Saturday's game plus 2 next season.

so in theory he hasn't started with the fleet at the beginning since he joined because last year he was missing after getting sent off against Gillingham in pre-season.

poor old Provs

I don't understand how Stevenage can appeal against Jarrett's sending off, because he headbutted Proths didn't he?

I still think 4 matches is a bit steep. He threw a ball in a player's face, yeah, ok he shouldn't have done it, but surely a head butt, or attempted headbutt, is more serious.

Also, lets hope that when the FA review the game, they find Maamria guilty of violent conduct for stamping on Jukebox, and leaving his foot in one too many times on Pullen, and ban him as well.

All I can say to that is....um.....hallo, Maamria?

Was reading the match report on the Stevenage website, and whoever wrote it must have a very vivid imagination, as they said that Jarrett never made contact with Proth's head, and that he went down as if he had been hit by a sniper??? what's that all about. from what I saw, all he did was cry "ow" and hold his head.

Well, it looks like it's three matches for violent conduct, with another match added owing to his previous red card in pre-season (as mentioned by mikefleet above). Rules are rules, I'm afraid.

Apparently Stevenage are to appeal against Jarrett's sending off, but the report to the FA does include what he said to Protheroe which started it all off.

With luck they will add some extra matches for that.

The FA saw sense:

Tuesday 19 April 2005

Albert Jarrett, Stevenage Borough FC
Stevenage Borough FC v Gravesend & Northfleet FC
Football Conference - National, 16 April 2005

Dismissed for 'violent conduct'

Decision: Claim rejected: 3 match suspension to commence with immediate effect
