NLP Report

Recommended Posts

Whilst queueing for my copy of "Mamouth Tits Monthly" (apparently the Giant Tit is rife in Sandridge) I glanced through the Non League Paper's report of the St Albans City v Havant match... A great read though I was a bit confused at the end when the reporter stated that "Bastock pulled off another great safe for a clean sheet which he thoroughly deserved"...

I thought we won 3-1?!

Yes, I spotted that small gaff in my issue too, Webbo.

I hear that the intrepid reporter, having submitted 400 words of prose that Shakespeare would have been quite pleased to have wrote [which did NOT include any reference to a clean sheet, whatsoever, by the way] was less than happy that the report was edited down by approximately 50%.

Still. I hear that the NLP do pay £1,500 per report so the blow was softened, presumably.

Incidentally, Webbo. How did you know the score anyway? You weren't at the game. Again.

[i imagine that Paul Bastock would have been disappointed that no MotM award was made on Saturday, by the way.]

...not mathematically certain... [must admit I thought that too until I was corrected by L Page]

...the youngster (Clarke) scored (the first) from 15 yards... [more like 1.5 yards]

...James Talylor beating Bastock from close range... [now that one was nearer to 15 yards]

Was the reporter not at the game either?
