Of course it matters if the away team brings a good support with them !

1) it gives extra income to a non league club

2) brings atmosphere

3) and good to see teams well supportered both home and away !

4) gives your team a boost

5) makes for a good day out !

Slough have taken between 50-200 supporters away from home this season.to loys of matches..just a shame that other clubs even though doing well still manage to bring desent support with them !

EG Staines 6 away supporters !! shocking when they are only 4 miles away !

We took about 200 there ! IT DOES MATTER !

Remember we are playing away from home - every match and our support has been fair to good !

well done the Rebels...

Good for you, im sure thats more important to you than what occurs on the pitch.

We have a much better than average support, both home and away, which has been getting progressively better throughout the season, so were really not too bothered.

Even with a low turnout yesterday, i would guess we still had more there than Yeading brought to us for a vital top of the table clash.

So what is a 'glamour' tie in this league then? Maybe Dover, Folkestone Chelmsford, but apart from that we are one of the better supported sides in the league.

Taking 40 away when you are chasing the title with 500 or so average at home - sorry, but that's poor - and Yeading were down 1-0 at half-time so you would have thought you would have made some noise then.

Good team. No sour grapes, but still think Yeading are a better side than them.

Well you keep worrying about our away following, and we'll keep worrying about our football. Gripes about attendances only seem to come from people who have nothing better to talk about, ie nothing happening on the pitch (enjoy that Bryco cup final by th way). Compared to most teams in this league, 40 away isnt so bad for an off day, we dont all have the luxury of being an ex conference club.

Just being picky but it was more like 60, but I'm sure you'll argue about that! I think we're caught in limbo at the moment as it is very unlikely that we'll win the league and most people are somewhat 'hanging' around for the play-offs. That was possibly our worst turn-out of the season, on a par with Wealdstone/Salisbury. Perhaps you should be concentrating on boosting your average home attendance rather than our away support. After all, you've had some good cup runs this season to entice people in.

I really am getting bored of hearing the same old [****!!****] from you after every defeat Optimistic. We know what your opinion is. Fine. The rest of us disagree with you - are you not bored yet?

Billericay were excellent - totally outclassed us. I note that Eastleigh did not carry out a lynching of their team when we thrashed them off the park. I express my disappointment with the team when I feel it is necessary but why can't you just get it through your thick skull that this is a good league, with good teams, good managers and high levels of professionalism. Sometimes no matter how hard our boys try - they will lose.

In fairness Billericay's away support was one of the best we have seen this season (which is piss poor really). Given that Staines and Yeading bought a combined total of 16 to our home league fixtures and they are twenty minutes away it is a bit unfair to gripe at those from darkest Essex. I was slightly disappointed that a promotion chasing side did not bring three figures particularly when there was a supporters coach (not seen many of them this season).

But there you go.

I hope that you Billericay boys are never in a position where you are totally reliant on attendances to keep your club alive because it is not fun and it is disheartening when away fans don't travel.

We get one of the best home attendances in the league. Sorry, i know how you must feel, but you cant rely on away teams to make up the numbers, if you want to attract higher attendances youve got to focus on the local population. Obviously thats more difficult for teams in exile such as yourselves, but you cant aim criticism at other clubs for not bringing fans. Quite frankly if your not getting the crowds its your problem.

If you start expceting other teams to bring lots of fans to boost the coffers your going to be vastly disappointed most of the time. Dover, yourselves and Wealdstone brought a few to our place, but not more than 100 any time. Chelmsford will be the only ones to break 3 figures. Plenty of times the away support has beeen countable on fingers and sometimes toes.

We travelled to you on the Tuesday before Christmas and still took around 75 fans. If the game had been a Saturday them I'm sure we would have taken over 100 as we did to both Saturday games against Chelmsford (League and Trophy).

Billericay'e home attendances are very good so I think our fans are just pointing out that the percentage of your fans who travel away is not too good compared to some other teams.

Slough have a good 'away' support but i can only name 3 or 4 sides that have brought a decent lot away. Tonbridge did ok, Hendon (although we didn't see them at home!) Basingstoke and Kingstonian.

Slough don't do to bad when they play away against us either!

James, I did not directly criticise. We are not expecting teams to fill our coffers it would just be nice if some other teams in this division would travel in the sort of numbers we take to away games. At least a third of our home support travel to away games. That has not been matched by anyone this season (save for Windsor for fairly obvious reasons).

As a club who moved away from our traditional home (and lost supporters in the process) we hoped for a boost in attendances following last season's "promotion." That has unfortunately been fairly limited and it is down to not been able to attract more regular home fans and the fact that the away support we anticipated has not materialised. This is not meant as a dig at Billericay but I for one have been disappointed with our attendances all season both from home and away fans.
