I did not see that one, but Peter's was incredible, just sailed over the goalkeeper and, as if irresistably pulled by a magnet, into the goal. Or maybe it was our hopes that dragged it in. In any case, it was one of the most powerful kicks I have ever seen, and very accurate and true, so I give full credit to Peter on this, it was a pretty miraculous strike.

 

There was a bit from their coach (Nick Greenwood) on teletext saying they deserved to be one up, and he had hoped they would hold on. Not so. In fact we were ascendent in the second half, and the groans and moans of their supporters near us stand witness to that. Truth is, although one of their supporters said they did not play, we actually did not let them.

One of the chaps I was talking to though said he could not understand why we were so defesive for the first part of the game, because in the second half when we attacked for all we were worth we looked the more dangerous side, and he could not credit why we were in the position we are in the table.

The ironic thing is that i thought all season Trego was susceptible to conceding one ,in similar circumstances as he does seem to come out of his goal quite a long way(he did nearly get caught out at Newport from a long range shot).

 

All credit to him for the goal though-just hope it means as much as Jimmy Glass' did for Carlisle

I believe Lee Hook was the Eastbourne goalie, whose father is the ex Ramsgate manager Peter Hook!!

He did mean it and it wasn't a lob as discribed on here by an earlier post, I was right behind it and the shot didn't get any higher than 10ft .

He didnt " look and see the goalie off his line"He just smacked it with the force of that shot by Edman for Spurs at the weekend.

When he got back in goal the home supporters applauded him and Trego said that he had tried it a lot of times this year and its the 1st time its come off.
