Had other things to do before the game, but then I haven't been to that many away games for the last few seasons anyway.

 

I orginally stopped going when Borg became our coach or assistant manager or whatever he was and Calder kept blaming everybody else and the football was dire. Didn't really miss it and haven't had the urge to go to as many games as I could since. The only games that I don't like to miss are the FA Cup and FA Trophy games.

 

I never normally watch Chelmsford play, unless its against us but then as it was against Yeading thought I may as well go.

What we couldn't understand is how their keeper walked back into the goal (and over the line) still holding the ball but the ref played on!

 

Yeading - bunch of thugs from bench to pitch. Glad to get rid of them for next season!

Inciting 2 22+ brawls at New Lodge isn't considered thuggery in your mind, then? Your team should stick to wrestling and leave the football to the clubs that want to play football...

From where I was standing it looked like the keeper caught the ball and 2 of your players pushed/nudged him so I assumed the ref would give a foul. I wasn't in line so I couldn't say if he was over or not.

Forgot to mention their manager ripping his coat off and looking like he wanted someone to hold him back from attacking the ref when he didn't get a decision. Most amusing.

I'm glad to see no one noticed my mistake, it was only a 21 man + bench clearing brawl and not 22 man + bench clearing brawl.

You were probably right the first time Martin, Yeading can usually find an extra body from somewhere in such situations.

Couple of our players certainly bundled into him but he just backed into the net unaided and from where we stood behind the goal the ball was over the line. The ref's assistant was not in line and no free-kick was awarded - all very odd!
After a promising first half the ref didn't have a clue second half....but, nothing new there I suppose...
