'Iron's on Tour'

there are many people in all walks of life webbo that condemn and castigate those that attempt to build things along lifes tangled and diverse highways....the burden of the creator is to have broad enough shoulders to deal with such castigation and critisism....

as for telling the 'truth' as you put it...well thats nowt to do with me as I'm just a fan of Hx and neither a director nor shareholder so we'll leave the 'truth' to those that are executively responsible for such high matters of seriousness...

the 'truth' of course is always somewhat different to the singular opinion on all sides so its perhaps best just to let the specialists in these matters sort out whats what...

I'm not sure we'll need any 'support' from you as things are working out but the gesture is much appreciated and noted...perhaps that support could have been forthcoming a while back before all this blew up out of all proportion....

anyway...no matter... I enjoy the banter with you and bear no ill feelings...

and no Gazz....I aint paying rent for the over use of this site....

well you did indeed try webbo and thank you for that....

unfortunately we obviously come from different worlds...had a manager/employee of mine served any sort of legal proceedings against another club/sent silly text messages to their directors and fans and staff ....I wouldn't have 'tried' I would have made it stop....end of story....

as I say....we are all different and I understand that sometimes decisions are hard to make....you backed george in his actions....no one else in football did and thats that...I'm not standing in judgement or saying whos right or wrong......

just saying my piece...

okay Gazz....a tenner a week for unlimited airtime....me and webbo will split it....

I wish you would do that mate so we can get back to the football. Anyway we can only guess at quite why UU has been posting this inter-club political stuff between Hornchurch and Braintree on the Billericay forum, a club who themselves are not in any way implicated or involved in the matter.

G'day mate.

UU can speak for himself, but one of the reasons to avoid posting on the Braintree forum is that the Moderators have been known to edit postings. Not to censor inappropriate stuff, you understand, just to change messages left on there without explanation. Quite disconcerting. I find it difficult to believe anything that's posted on there any more.

I agree, Oz. Let's get back to the football. It doesn't matter what these people might be doing to your football club. Let's worry about that another day. All too familiar, Oz.

Oh, by the way, Oz. Are you aware of any proposed ground improvements at Cressing Road that might otherwise qualify for a grant? I'm interested in a casual way relative to a small project that I have ongoing.

but Oz...surely all my 'political stuff' as you quaintly term it is a welcome distraction from your clubs football at the moment...I mean I am not one to attempt to wind up another clubs fans just because they have only managed 4 points from 18 but surely thats a bit near the mark even by George's springtime standards....

and as for the reason for using the ricay board...well they are such hospitable people it would be churlish of us not to visit here from time to time and share their forum for interesting matters...you may well have noticed the difference between here and your board where 'mark the eraser' plys his dark trade of censure over the uninitiated masses....

nice to see you on here as well.....

I must say for a Braintree Supporter and a St. Albans supporter to complain about club and league politics on our forum a bit rich.

Unc, IW and any others, bring what you will to this forum, it makes interesting and amusing "copy"!!!

Oh and Unc, £10 please. TC is taking up the round of drinks...

a]. It's CITY, Gazza.

b]. No 'complaint' from me, Gazza. I find it fascinating.

Good luck to you lot over the next couple of weeks. Incidentally, I see that someone raised the question of the division of admission monies in the play off matches on another forum, and someone responded to the effect that they are divided in the same way as cup reciepts.

In the play off matches at the end of last season that we were involved in, the gate monies were to be retained by the home club. Those were, of course, play-off arrangements to avoid effective relegation and it might be different at the 'other end' of the League.

Morning all.

Unc said: "well you did indeed try webbo and thank you for that...."

No problemo - tried to help and I thought you had reached an agreement.

Unc said: "unfortunately we obviously come from different worlds...had a manager/employee of mine served any sort of legal proceedings against another club/sent silly text messages to their directors and fans and staff ....I wouldn't have 'tried' I would have made it stop....end of story...."

No Unc., I think we live in very similar dimensions. The Court supported the claim of the applicant. The High Court did not reject the petition, just adjourned it for 7 weeks. What action my colleagues choose to initiate with regard to their previous employment is their responsibility. I am not his keeper, just his present employer. I would, however, agree with you that the text messages were 'silly' and not threatening.

Unc said: "as I say....we are all different and I understand that sometimes decisions are hard to make....you backed george in his actions....no one else in football did and thats that...I'm not standing in judgement or saying whos right or wrong......"

George is responsible for his own actions. George has received many messages of support. As you once advised me, do not believe everything everyone tells you Unc. I will support the decisions made by the Court & High Court, in the same way that I will support your CVA if 75% accept it.

Unc said: "just saying my piece..."

As I've come to expect (and enjoy!)

Unc said: "okay Gazz....a tenner a week for unlimited airtime....me and webbo will split it.... "

Sometimes I do wonder if all this public airing of dirty linen is in everyone's interest.

...

Now where's that Southern League directory ...

Hi UU.

Now there's a strange thing! George Borg was, apparently, successful in his application for the winding-up of Hornchurch FC. Why were we told that it hadn't succeeeded, then? How is it that you are still playing football?

From that posting - "George has received many messages of support...." - I'm impressed Uncle! a popular chap and a popular cause, it would seem.

A picture formed in my mind: "I have in my hand a petition signed by 27,000,000 people supporting the actions taken by -------- [fill in blank where appropriate]. It would not be appropriate to divulge their names but take it from me, on my reputation for honesty and fair dealings, that these messages fully vindicate the actions taken by George, blah, blah. By the way, if anything goes wrong, it's nothing to do with me, and I have no knowledge of any messages of support. And before you ask, not one of the names bears any relation to the various winners of the 200 Club monthly draw at St Albans City FC."

Has it occurred to you Uncle that, on a flight of fantasy, of course, if George Borg had succeeded in his application, there would have been one less team in the Conference South? I wonder how the League Management Committeee would have filled the extra vacancy for the start of next season? One extra club coming up from the next lower tier of the pyramid, I presume. How would that have been decided, I wonder? Still. Its academic now, of course.

Oh, by the way, Ozbrit, cobber. While I'm on.

Any details of any potential grant application for ground improvements at Cressing Road?
