So Manchester stands on the brink of takeover and debt?

 

Hope they walk away and say go away!

 

Having seen large highly geared industrial organisations takeover others and destroy the communities I'm with the football fans 100%. This takeover does not show any benefits to the game of football! Where is the love for the game of football and the club in this action?

 

If someone can see a positive in this takeover let's consider it? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />

I am afraid we live in a capitalist society and the basic premise of capitalism is that everything has a price even, dare I say, ETFC.

 

The two Irish speculators have already said that they went into MAN U as an investment and they are getting a very good price for their shares. They either take it or see their stake dwindle.

 

They will take the gold as will most of the other large shareholders.

 

The only thing for the general public to do if they do not want to be spectators in the game of capital is to vote for a government that seeks to control the worst excesses of capitalism.

 

Alas it appears that choice is not before us!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETFC does not have a price as no one can benefit financially from the club. We are effectively a bunch of commies!

Suppose an offer was made to members of the trust to vote to become a PLC and the board recommended it - in order to bring in money. Look at the way Wimbledon are developing.

The membership would have to vote in favour of a radical change to the constitution - for a brand new constitution in fact.

 

I am far from convinced that that would happen.

I'm a member of a supporters trust and I have an empathy for the Manchester United FC Supporters trust in their battle to save their club from a businessman who hasn't yet demonstrated an appreciation for the real game of football.

At our level we don't go into football to make money there are far easier ways I'm sure! For us it is community, enjoyment and hopes for the future. At least at Chelsea the man putting in the money watches a game of football and appears to enjoy it!
