Bryco Cup Final

Loving the work that's gone into the front page of the website advertising the game - a great idea to try and attract more punters to come to the game.

I wonder if the thisisslough website would allow another pop-up advertisement similar to the ones for the Walsall and Yeading games?

Cheers Matt,

Ganna try and also do a poster to put up-and-around the ground for Saturday's match to raise awareness, although i'm not great at doing things in high rez, whereas i'm good on the web.

Personally I want us to heaviliy outnumber Hampton and give all the boys the encouragement they deserve!

As for thisisslough, I'm not sure but i'll speak to my boss when he's back from his holiday as i'm running the show at the moment!

Other ideas to help get behind the lads would also be great. I'm planning on buying a fair few blue and yellow ballons (As I hope others will as well to save me a bit of money ) for the match and it would be great if others had any ideas? Ticker tape, drums - what do you lot think?

It's our first cup final in 10-years and I think we should make a big deal about it as these things don't come around too often!

Thinking ahead to the day, I hope everyone will congregate under the covering on the side of the pitch and make a real racket for 90 minutes supporting the boys.

I'll be getting in a few bits and pieces and the good old yellow and blue crate paper as well will be doing the rounds no doubt.

Personally, I'm not that keen on the band. A lot of people I spoke to who weren't regulars were actually more put off by the band than they were encouraged to return. The other aspect of it is that without enough voices in the singing, the drum drowns out the voices, and defeats the object a bit.

Maybe the drum could be used 'in-between' singing to provide a beat, if you see what I mean - then it wouldn't drown out the support. It's one idea anyway.

Making the place as amber and blue as possible is definitely the way to go.

Good thoughts chaps. Despite our preference for getting behind the goal, the nature of Staines' ground makes it more sense for us to congregate at the side on this occasion. This will enable us to make more noise due to the roof and also stand together as opposed to single file.

As for Matt's comment of turning the place amber and blue I think that's a great idea. Staines' colours are blue and yellow anyway so we've already got an advantage.

We should definitely get contributions towards balloons. Where did Alan Harding get the one's for the Trust launch as they were great? I'll put a fiver in the balloon pot for a start.

i will happily join in and support the boys, will get some practise in at the heybridge game hopefully! tongue

we should make as much of a fuss over this as possible, im sure you guys appreciate that cup finals dont come around very often! (especially me supporting slough and southampton doesnt bring back much silverware!)

would it be possible to take the coach one way, ie travel up there with you guys but not back?

I have been very fortunate with Uni, no exams or assignments due in for that week!

I have an exam the following morning !!

A 'balloon fund' or something similar is a good idea. Would be great to have hundreds of them (well maybe not quite that many) floating about everywhere along with string, paper confetti etc, and really make it feel like a home game.
