KENT SENIOR CUP FINAL - MONDAY, MAY 2

Folkestone Invicta have allowed Margate a walkover into the Kent Senior Cup final, as Margate were leading 1-0 in the semi-final.

The final will be between Dover Athletic and Margate, taking place at the Westbourne Stadium, Folkestone on Monday, May 2.

All proceeds will go to the family of Paul Sykes.

I suppose there is an argument for having a Folkestone v Dover final at Cheriton Road as that would result in greater gate money for the Sykes family.

However, I would hope fans of all three clubs will go to the game in any case.

Folkestone v Dover would be better, totally agree about the money from the Final going to Syko's family though, that's a nice gesture. Hopefully some kind of tribute match can be arranged for him too.

To be honest I don't think it will matter who plays as long as the fixture is advertised the way it should be. We will then see supporters from all Kent clubs at the ground and hopefully a very big crowd.

agree mass advertising to get as many football fans from across the county to attend as is a good cause but the result will count for nothing!!

 

this game will not be about the KSC but Mr Sykes and is family!!

Same here, whoever plays the Final I will be there with my son so we can pay our respects to Paul & raise some monies for his family!

I think the final should be not played this year and a joint DAFC, MFC, FIFC team / Syko's teamates - could play a legends XI at Crabble or Preistfield. With maximum advertising and coverage a load of money could be raised.
