Tried to call but his phone is off. Probably enjoying his stay in Stevenage still.

He was stitched up good and proper, by all accounts. The policewoman I spoke to more or less admitted they knew who they were looking for.

 

"It's not the first time he's brought a firework [sic] into a football ground though, is it?" she knowingly, and rhetorically, asked me.

 

Makes sense though.

 

When you've got around 50 Wood yobs throwing stones and bottles, you arrest the harmless looking guy with stupid trousers.

I hope whoever it is out there that has arranged this with the Police is pleased with themselves.

For those who care, or are unaware… the one with the hair from the flare-bearing pair, was arrested there for wearing a flare for a dare - so unfair. I despair.

Mind you, he wasn't exactly forthcoming or friendly to our uniformed friends last night.

Basically, they spotted something sticking out of Colin's back pocket, asked him what it was, and he made out he "didn't know"!

 

He hadn't helped himself by mouthing off at the police all night anyway, but that's a different story.

 

You'd have loved it last night, Costello - Wood yobs everywhere. John Farmer was trying to take them on by himself, but ended up hiding behind Gibson telling him that he "feared for [his] life"!!

 

Colin got whisked away to Stevenage Police Station midway through the first half (we were standing with Rizza and Gurney at the time!) and his phone has been off since.

 

I was told his arrest was for "the possession of firearms", and haven't heard any different since.

Poor sod, he did say that this ws going to be the worst week of his life, perhaps it was that music he listens too hes like one of the kids in columbine USA that use to listen to weird music and hated playing sport. Thats probably why he wears baggy trousers so he can sneak loads of firearms down them incase he one day wants to kill everyone at the club because life has become to much.

 

On a serious note i hope hes o.k

 

If he did have firearms i'm gessing a K47 that hes bought off the internet while hes at work.

Daft sod phoned his soon-to-be-ex-Girlfriend as his 'one phone call'. She was evidently starting to lose interest before all this.

 

I hope he's not of the impression that this will make her love him more!

It was so obviously John Gibson who set this all up and i'm also guessing that he'll be banned from the club again.

Yeah completely agree phoning a girl that you thinks going to dump you to tell her that youve been arrested at a non league ground for carrying firearms isnt going to get her dreaming wedding bells.

 

What is the supporters club going to do about it, one of the most loyal fans at the cl;ub hads been obviously stictched up for just trying to give a little bit of excitement to the only thing the clubs been able to get excited about.

Just as an aside.

 

On my way in to the office this morning, I was listening to Radio 5Live and their sports chap was on the line from Milan. Something about a disturbance at the local derby there last night and reference to flares. He said words to the effect:

 

'I recognise these flares. They are only available in Italy. It's possible that some of the Inter/AC [strike out as appropriate] fans may travel to Turion tomorrow.'

 

It occurred to me that the reporter is clearly unaware of 'Billy's Marine Supplies' at 227 The Embankment, London WC1.

Just had a call from the lad - no charge, no caution, bailed to return in six weeks.
