Sad news from Folkestone...

The below is from the official Folkestone site ( http://www.folkestoneinvicta.co.uk ):

It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of Invicta striker Paul Sykes. He collapsed about 30 minutes into tonights delayed kick-off match. Margate physio John Griffin tried to revive him whilst awaiting the ambulance, he was taken to William Harvey Hospital and was pronounced dead.

Everybody is in shock here so more information will not become available until tomorow. Paul was well known to both sets of players having previously been a Margate player. Paul is going to be sadly missed.

I am sure that the thoughts of everyone at Hornchurch is with all involved tonight. frown.gif

didnt know him but you never want this to happen in the footballing world, I lost a good friend at 37 who died in front of me at Brittons Park 5 years ago in front of a match my son was playing in.

My heart goes out to his family
