As a mark of respect, i think that ALL games involving all kent clubs this weekend should be called as a mark of respect.

Just wanted to let you guys know that everyone on the Slough Forum has been truly saddened by the events last night. The shocking and untimely passing of Paul Sykes has hit all of us hard and made us put things into perspective. We're all particularly close to our players so we can understand what a horrendous shock this must be to all of the Folkestone and Margate fans.

Would like to take this opportunity to pass on my condolences to Paul's family and everyone who knew him.

Cookie mate, don't get dragged down by "sickened" posts. I'm an Invicta fan; when Syko hadn't got up for half a minute or so I shouted "You haven't got the free kick, Syko, you might as well get up now." Easy to be wise after the event, but there was no collision or anything to suggest Syko might be hurt and everyone thought it was Syko having one of his jokes with the crowd.

 

Yes, it would be great if there were ambulances, paramedics, etc on site, but you tell me one club at our level where they are? You're right about the stretcher, but it wouldn't have done any good in this case.

 

If you'll forgive the use of the expression, sh*t happens, and it's a crying shame that it happened at Folkestone last night and to such a universally popular player as Syko.

 

The whole of Kent football is united in sadness, so let's not bicker amongst ourselves.

Just listened to the tribute on audio from the Kent On-line site. The words of Cugley, Kinnear and Sampson were heartfelt, disbelieving and moved me to tears. Syko seemed to have such a positive effect on everyone who played with, his managers and the fans.

The word legend is overused, but in this case well deserved.
