Just as Roy/Lee score our second, to relegate (hopefully) Farboro, news come in that Newport County are winning 3-0 which will almost certainly relegate Margate.

This again puts the game into perspective - it is just that, a game - yes, we all want to win, and see our team do well, but thats nothing when a player dies during a game. Paul Sykes had played on the Kent circuit for a number of years, I believe - may I be the first n this forum to offer my sincere condolences to his family. Although he didnt play for us, I hope the club can arrange a collection for his family at our last home game against Burton.

It was shocking to hear about Paul Sykes, and especially for us Orient fans after we heard yesterday that one of our players, Andy Scott, has been told he must retire immediately as doctors have found out he is suffering from the same heart condition as the one that killed Marc-Vivien Foe.

It just goes to show that you can never take life for granted.

This sort of un fortunate thing seems to be more regular these days, it just goes to show you dont have to be unfit to suffer something like this, Its awfull news and the idea of a collection is a good one to let other clubs in kent know, that we all care.The link below is a brief report of events.
