Most of what dont ? Despite living next to a whole spectrum of characters only problems ever faced were a group of students from the Midlands, who thought Spandau Ballet at 3 in the morning was acceptable.

As much as I don’t like spotty 18 year old’s in Burberry and hooded tops, let’s get things into perspective here for a minute. I’ll admit there pretty annoying standing outside the local shops or sitting on park benches drinking White Lightening or racing around the one way systems in their Citroen Saxo’s but you simply can’t lay the blame for all Britain’s problems on chavs.

 

Was ‘Operation Trident’ launched by the Metropolitan Police as a means of combating chavs? No, it was launched to reduce the number of black-on-black gun crimes in London – with a focus on drug related shootings. Faced with a choice of reprimanding a bandy 9 stone chav or a bad boy Yardie living next door to me, I know who I’d rather tackle thanks.

 

Who was responsible for the murder of policeman DC Stephen Oake? A chav perhaps? No you’ve guessed it…Kamel Bourgass, a bogus Asylum Seeker who was plotting terrorist attacks in the UK by using the deadly ricin.

 

As much as chavs annoy me, let’s not use them to mask the real issues eh?

I don’t agree with imposing figures for the intake of asylum seekers and immigrants which Michael Howard and the Conservatives are proposing. If annual intake quota were set at say 30,000, what would happen if that number of applicants were already admitted and a person whose life was genuinely in danger in their own land wanted to claim refuge here? Would they be turned away? Likewise, what would happen if the intake were well below the 30,000? Would the government allow an extra 5,000 bogus applicants simply to reside here just to fill the quota?

 

I agree with Stu M, when he say’s that immigrants have in many cases made a positive contribution to Britain, but it must also be said that in just as many cases many other immigrants have contributed nothing and have made a negative impact.

 

I think the Conservatives are in big trouble at the moment, and although the have put up a brave fight this time around they’re in for a serious bloody nose. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if in the next five years the party splints after serious infighting. I will probably vote Conservative in the next election but expect to wake up and hear news of a Labour landslide on May 6th; especially as the Tory’s have no support whatsoever in much of the north, the inner Cities, Scotland and Wales. If this is the case then I wouldn’t rule out voting for a minority party, even the BNP, in future elections.

What a complete and utter load of b*llocks. What the hell are you talking about when you say ‘fascists’? There are no messages on this thread that can be deemed fascist or racist whatsoever. The only people who can be called fascist are people like you who if they had their way would force everyone to vote Labour and outlaw freedom of speech.

 

The political views of supporters have nothing to do with attracting new supporters young and old so why try and twist things? I’m intrigued to know what part of this thread would discharge anyone from allowing their children to watch football at Stonebridge Road?
