He may be big, but he certainly ain't useless. My opinion has changed a lot of him since we brought in Jean Michele Sigere.

 

Roy works hard all over the park, and creates the chances for himself as well as for others.

He takes the chances, and it's not always down to him that they don't find the back of the net.

Don't start number 8. He's not the only one missing the target at the moment is he. look at the hatfull of chances that Siggy has had in the last couple of games and failed to put away. Some of the chances have been his fault, I'm not saying that they're not, but the keepers in this league are good. Let's just hope he can put at least one away tonight.

I'm not starting, and you're right he is not the only one who misses most chances, so maybe my theory should be extended across all of our strike force..??? Fact is fact, not converting chances means no goals, and for a person who is paid to put them away and rack up a good goal tally, it doesn't bode well...!!

 

This season has seen many up's and down's for GNFC on the pitch, what with our terrible defensive problems and our lack of converted 'easy' chances, this said, we are on track for a comfortable semi-mid table finish and year on year we are getting better (as results and points will show) but we need to be more aggressive and less laid back when up against what I consider to be easy opposition... Keepers standards have not risen or developed that much, they just find it easier to stop shots that carry no conviction or weight... which in most cases are the types of shots Roy has had this half of the season..! He will get better, especially when Liam decides to strengthen the strike force during close of season.. nuff said from me...!

Simple fact is Roy isnt good enough, he got found out at Wycombe, ended up in the Ryman with a couple of teams, wasnt prolific at Bishops Stortford and has gone to pieces this season. Same with Sigere, Margate bought a striker who couldnt hit a barn door with them and ends up with us. Simple facts. Manny is the only decent striker we have who can score goals if we play the right way but he's always injured.. Id rather have Jefferson Louis than Roy or Sigere but he got hounded after about 4 games !!

While I agree that Essandoh has been doing a lot of work all over the park since Siggy came I just don't think he is of conference standard.

But Siggy was really poor on saturday, and he just doesn't seem to have been able to put away all of the chances that he has had. never the less, both of them will probably be here next season.

At a guess, neither will be wanted next season, contracts or not. Neither Roy nor Siggy have that 'bit extra' that makes for a 15-20 goal a season striker in the conference.
