Had to laugh at yesterdays game.

 

How Fickle can you be, alot of fans on their Forum having a pop at Tilson, hope he goes on to better than Southend.

to be fair, I think there are more pops being had at the large number of Southend fans (several hundred all at once) who left after Wrexham scored their second, two mins before the end of extra time. Perfectly understandable I think, you pays your money and if you want to leave before the end that's up to you (whatever game it is), just don't moan if something happens and you miss it ! Not sure why people leaving early should generate so much online hot air though.

PS - probably shouldn't say this on here but I went to the game, very even overall, Wrexham ultimately deserved it cos they took their chances.

i went as well.. barret was superb.. would love to have him in the middle of our defence .. gower had a mare and wore poxy white boots..

and i very much bailed out after the 2nd goal went in

i went to the game , must say i left 1 min from the end of extra time , Got away early so id miss the rush for the buses back to the car park..it would have taken ages to get out of it otherwise !

Did any of you get the football specials from Southend to Cardiff that delayed our trains in the morning?

Thought it was funny that they were diverted via Nuneaton on the way home and took about 8 hours

i was on train 3 we were the first to leave we got back to benfleet at 12:50. did hear about the other trains . <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

to explain, Southend chartered 3 trains to Cardiff. To make the long trip after a depressing defeat even more enjoyable, they took the scenic route home - arrived at Benfleet at 0050 in case you thought 1250 was the next afternoon. Not sure which train it was but one of them did not stop at Pitsea when it was supposed to...don't know what time the other trains got back, they might still be out there somewhere...

yes the trains by all accounts were a disaster coming back..

i think you can get from anywhere to anywhere by rail. arnt they all linked.. tho going via birmingham is taking the piss somewhat

I would say our team player for player is better than Canveys with the Exception of Lee Boylan.

 

We need to aquire cover for the back but other than that we have a very good pacey squad.

 

Plus the fact that the club is full time will go a long long way, even your own fans have been saying this.

 

I know next year wont be easy but I dont think we will no way struggle by any stretch

You've certainly done your selves proud this season, and the full time thing will without doubt benefit you, as that is where we struggle a bit, but it/s still not going to be a walk in the park.Boylan would grace any conference team, we could certainly do with him, as for pace, can it beat experience?

Well we have both, in Jamie Stuart I think we have one of the best defenders in non-league and I would take him over most of our players.

 

We have Westy, Matthews who have both been there and done it, as has Bayes. Thurgood and Martin although young have been playing for years.

 

We have a very nice blend of youth and Experience.

Those who left early are a disgrace. How about staying to the end to show ur appreheation to the team for firstly getting to the final, secondly doin well when nobody gave then a chance, and thirdly for giving southend the best season for a long time.
