The thought of ramsgate and margate joining sends shivers up most mfc and rfc supporters spines.

Much rivalry between them over the years.

We would be in no better situation as we are in now or next season. At least 1 league lower again even if rams are promoted.Southwood could not be upgraded to even conference standard.

It simply would not work as even now they are a standard below margate. With all due respect mate. Ive played football at local works league level against 50% of the ramsgate players at one time or another. The standard of local footballers has gone down even in the 8 years ive been playing.Examples being:

1.The two leagues have had to join together to improve the competition.

2.Active are not what they used to be and they were the best team in thanet at one time.

3.The Thanet Saturday league has got smaller because there are not enough players.

4. Thanets 2nd or debatable best team Saints de Ville had to dispand this season which was a shock.

 

Players are not avaliable in thanet.

 

I think you'll find that jim ward will have to search further afield to compete in ryman 1.
