Why is he such a stroppy git. Did anyone else see that he completely ignored Daish and Kimble when he was taken off, and didn't even shake hands with Ben Surey. He went straight down the tunnel.

Talk about childish.

According to Ben, the reason that he threw a strop was because he turned up to the ground expecting to play, and was then told he was a sub. After that, he was in a mood.

Going on after 8 minutes obviously meant to him that he would be on for the remainder of the 90 minutes, and not that he would be taken off after 72!

He's done this sort of thing before hasn't he? I think he'll be lucky to even be a sub tomorrow night, and I'm not 100% that he'll be there next season if he doesn't like the way Daish runs things.

What do you think to his reaction?

He wasn't playing fantastic. Not his usual self, wasn't taking players on enough.

Bad appearance not shaking hands, there's no mutiny between him and surey. I actually expected it to be Jukebox taken off, seeing the board as the 4th official was preping it, it said 23, then changed to 22 when he put it up.

Yes Slarti, first day back today!

He wasn't playing as well as he normally does, but given that we were chasing the game it was an odd decision to take off a player who goes forward and creates things and replace him with Surey who... well... doesn't. I also thought we lost our shape once he had gone and never really looked like scoring the second. I know he's a stroppy little sod but he's a quality player and must still be here next season. He's the kind of player we need to keep if we are going to progress.

If Skins has broken a bone in his foot, Matt will be guaranteed a starting place for the last few games, with Jacko at left back.

Whether Liam will want him on his retained list is another matter.

But the same probably applies to 5 or 6 others. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Skins said that his foot wasn't too bad, and he seemed to be walking on it ok.

The reaction that Lovell gave Daish and Kimble, let alone Surey, surely says that he needs to sort his priorities out, and decide whether he wants to play as one of 11 men on the park, or as a one man team. From the display on saturday, I think he seemed to choose the second option.

He has changed the style and the way in which he plays since he came back from welling, but his attitude has been consistent right through the season. 'If I don't get my own way I'll throw a strop' seems to be the attitude he has.

yeah, would rather he was part of the squad. Emphasise that last bit 'PART OF THE SQUAD'.

He should know by now that you don't get to play every week, and the sending off against stortford didn't help his case.

He needs to learn a little bit of self discipline, and take a look at the older members of the squad and how they react to situations.

His attitude needs to change, otherwise he'll end up as an outcast, because the squad will want team players in the group, not stroppy little gits.

His attitude will affect the cohesion of the whole group, and could potentially bring about a negative performance.

Well if Matt Lovell leaves i think the club will start heading down hill,he's young with potential and the club should try and retain him, lets not talk about him leaving!!! the player had every right to be upset about being subbed, what can surey do that he cant? we wanted to get something out of the game so it never made sense to take off an attacking player!

I agree, Walshie seemed to gel with the whole team better, and we had far better crosses when he played.

Let's hope Daish and Kimble read this and make a swoop for him from St Albans in the summer. If he can be guaranteed first team football 90% of the time, I'm sure he would return to the fold!

As for Matt Lovell, to change him you would need an attitude transplant. He needs a severe boot up the backside, because thats the only way he will change.

Also, he needs to speed up the transition from sub to player, it doesn't take 5 minutes to put some tape around the bottom of your socks and put your shirt on.

Ha Ha very funny. It seems I have grown out of the Fleetbabe Moments. I just think that Lovell is a spoilt little s**t, and needs to be put in his place, whether it be by the rest of the squad, Daish & Kimble or by the fans.

He isn't a patch on Walshie, and is getting too big for his boots (if you'll pardon the pun!)

Let's hope that we can bring back our Walshie in the summer.
