football suppliers

We as clubs are always buying football kits, balls and associated equipment.

Is there a way we could have a central perferred suppliers list that all clubs could use and save money.

Perhaps all clubs state there current supplier and then a TENDER is worked out between all 15 suppliers, and the most competetive Supplier has to supply all 15 CLUBS

I know that some suppliers have a discount structure based on numbers, surely the more clubs in the Essex Senior League could use this as the carrot.

I know I have suggested it but far to busy to be able to set it up.

Is there anyone out there that could.

I am sure the league can help to supply the individal taking on this role with club contacts, or clubs can put a person forward for the nominated person to contact.

We all buy similair items.

What do you think,

Southport beat me to this.

Back in the days of playing in the ryman league, they did exactly what you are suggesting. The result was that each club received a donation of kit with corporate logos and approved matchballs. The down side was that they then insisted that everyone on the bench wear approved benchwear, with fines for non-adherence. Same again with balls. This meant that you had to buy from one supplier, which could be a little onerous if you played at Sungate where you count lost balls by the game, not by the season.

Hey Zody

Did you set this up so I would reply knowing that Procurement is my profession?

I would never have the time to do it, but if the league wanted to do sometning I would be willing to give advice.

Not sure if you could enforce it though???????????

It might compromise certain sponsorship deals?

It did cross my mind, Boroman, Number 1 Buyer.

Its been suggested to talk to the league chairman and go via club secertary, email sent to Colin, if you can expand please speak to him, my supplier in the past is interested as a couple of PM'S from other clubs, must be worth taking this the next stage I know I have suggested it but far to busy to be able to set it up.
