As a defensive minded midfielder shooting isn't a priority for him so that shouldn't come into it at all... he found a lot of seriously good passes today and with Wilko they managed to squash the opposition midfield superbly... that makes him decidedly un'crap' to me.

i didn't say he didn't need to shoot, i merely said it wasn't a priority...that means what is considered to be most important incase you're not sure... if your grammar is that awful you may not understand a 4 syllabled word like priority

Defensive midfielders priority does not lie with shooting. It lies with winning the ball back and laying it off. Mets and Wilko combined and on song, like this evening, is an awesome partnership. They compliment one another beautifully.

Christian Metcalfe had a bad run around Christmas time and I still believe he was rightfully critisised after some of his performances, especially Northwood. However, as Marcus says since then he seems to have moved up a gear almost as if to stick two fingers up at the fans, and good on him. Metcalfe, when on form, is a very, very good player and thus when he is having a bad spell, he will be critisised as people know he can do so much better. He was MOTM in my opinion by a long way tonight and hopefully his form will continue onto the end of the season and I look forward to seeing someone of his talent in a Slough shirt again next season.

TBH I've never heard of a tough tackling forward. Id be very surprised if Jose M buys his next forward with and comments "Yes, well i bought him as a last line of defence and he's such a great tackler and marker"
