Supporting the team

I can just about remember the good old days when I would spend hours posting on the Gate forum sharing views with others. All I seem to read lately is RUBBISH about who is more of a fan. Whether you have been going 50 years or just this season does it really matter? If you support the Gate quit the argueing and get behind the team on Saturday.MMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

You have missed the point. When I do post on the forum I debate with various other fans but I do not see the point in arguing about who is a bigger fan.

The one thing we should not be doing is slagging off our own players .We need them perhaps more than they need us .Lets get behind the team and sing for Margate 4 games left and why not 4 wins if we all stick together .Lets make them feel as though they are the best and maybe they will perform as such .

As a Dover fan, I am more than familiar with the notion of multiple relegations!!!

However, let me reassure you that as we have found; getting things sorted out off the field is far more important that which league you play in on it. I think there are a number of similarities between our clubs and the harsh fact is that we are probably both years from being able to survive in the National Conference again - so there really is no need to all fall out if you suffer relegation to the Ryman League.

Look at the positives, you will have closer games, AFC Wimbledon, and a fairly decent chance of doing very well. All of this (hopefully) in a new stadium - even if only temporary, the point being it would be at HDP!! Thats not even to mention an incredibly loyal manager of high standing and the fact that you are not down yet......... So, why all the negativity?!

I also agree Dover fan and the one result we have been striving for has been a return to home. That is the main outcome we are striving for. But as for the negativity there is none. We have high opinions of this club and high asperations and though we DEBATE with intensity it it s not in a negative way.Its all for the benifit of the club that we discuss things though what we say really dosent affect the performances. Well,it shouldnt do.People agree and disagree thats what football and debating is all about. We do have a slight worry that demotion could affect the re-building of the stadium in some way but am sure really that wont be the case. Hopefully we are all friends at the end of the day and our allegiances to the club are the same for all of us.

"Your dead right Dover fan and maybe even some good local derbies against yourselves and folkestone."

Great! Lots more local derbies! I know, let's go down to the Kent League – a derby every week then!

Perhaps the 'oh well, it doesn't really matter' brigade should calculate how much money they have spent on following the team this season.

Good posts-common sense. May love, peace & harmony return please. The grounds in disseray, the teams in disseray-the one constant has been the supporters-let us not go the same way-we're needed more than ever.

My take on the recent-lets call it passionate debating-is if you've made the effort to go all the way to a game-payed your eight quid, providing it's not too foul or abusive you can say what the hell you like-I do. I also like a chant too. Chant and rant.

If you go for a meal and the servers make no effort & the food is crap you complain-same at football-it's human nature so lets live and let live. Lets have plenty of snogging tomorrow-especially the attractive ones-Cookie,Bodyform,Tony M. etc..I'm like the lino on Tuesday-need strong glasses.

Four cup finals left-12 points to go and grab-see you tomorrow.

Playing local derbies is a good thing yes, but i would rather it be in the conference than in the kent league, we, as other kent teams must continue to be ambitious to one day give the Gills a run for their money. We must concentrate on staying in this league, and if worst happens put all our efforts to getting back to where we were before Moules screwed us over.

for one he let Northwich get away with ground share extention. Then he threatans us with further relagation. We have never had handouts like others even when we got promoted. Burton got one towards a new stand.

Given that, at the time of our demotion, we were a million miles from getting planning permission (and had knocked down our old ground), why should we have got any help whatsoever?

Whatever you might think about Northwich, at least something has been built there!
