I wasn't there unfortunately. From which part of Stamford Bridge did you take your measurements?, and what was your reference for comparison?

Well I watched the Liverpool match on TV with the volume muted, and the Liverpool supporters did not seem to make any noise at all! What terrible fans.

Perhaps it was the tv mic's not picking it up but it seemed very odd!

Although as shown on Soccer AM a few weeks ago the crowd were so silent you could hear the players talking!

Yes actually I did. I also noticed that when I turn up I seem to be the only one out of the entire West Lower to be making any f***ing noise.

I went a few weeks back when we drew 0-0 with City and some bloke told me to sit down and shut up. At a football match?

Fifteen years I've had a season ticket down there, fifteen poxy f***ing years only for some glory hunting band wagon jumping twat to tell me to sit down and shut up. You must be having a giraffe?

Chelsea now have 4 of the five things they need.

1 Fantastic team. When was the last time player of the year has been down to two players of the same team without any other player from any other side getting a look in?

2 Fantastic manager. Jose is the best he just is. Always great for a quote, he was going on about sharks and violins last week. Quality.

3 Owner with deep pockets. Don't go on about how they buy success, if it wasn't us then it would go to the next highest bidder, the premiership is an auction now days whoever has the most money wins.

4 Great future win a major trophy every year for the next ten years.

5 Great fans? Don't make me laugh. I am still Chelsea through and through but some part of me can't wait for it all to go pairshaped.

For anyone that doesn't know I am now giving up my fifteen year stance as a Chelsea fan for Gravesend & Northfleet where any success is appreciated and I can have a drink with the chairman before the game. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />

I went to Stamford Bridge last year as an away fan for the Watford FA cup tie. The place is just awful compared to when I was last there in the mid eighties when it was a proper football ground. I feel sorry for the fans who knew it from a few years ago.

Now, the clientele (not fans) make a very nice co-ordinated clapping noise to a little Russian number before the start then go silent for the ninety minutes. It's not helped by over zealous stewards running up up and down the touchline telling people to sit down all the time. On what grounds? Safety? Bulls**t. I've never worked out why it's perfectly safe for everyone to stand up at halftime and before the game but not during it.

Chelsea aren't alone. I went to Old Trafford as one of 2900 away fans and was stunned at how little noise 65,000 people can make. Arsenal are the same and Liverpool were very quiet at Anfield when I went there in January too.

It's all too clinial for me. Give me non-league any time. I bet Stmford Bridge doesn't have rusty screw filled rotten wood fence panels like Hendon did today!

If you want to APPRECIATE Stamford Bridge, go on a ground tour.

Well worth the Money, and Harry J - I agree with NEARLY everything you said above.

Get your facts right Harry, Liquidator has been played at Chelsea five minutes before kick off since it was released in the late 60's eary 70's.

The Kalinka started being played after Liquidator when Roman took over.

Get your own facts right mate. I didn't say it was a new thing I just said they don't play the Kalinka anymore.

Sorry but you did say and I quote "they now do" which as far as I am concerned means doing something new, and DONT CALL ME MATE when I have the decency to put my name to a post.

Sorry Sue didn't mean to offend. Your right the anonymous thing is a big deal in here to some of us anyway and although you didn't register at least you had the decency to put your name at the bottom of the post.

I remember the Liquidator being played when I was a kid so I know only to well how long it's been played. It was picked up after the teams tour of the caribean in 1968 and used pretty much ever since.
