The End Is Nigh...

... unless somehow the Shaymen can 'Move any Mountain' and gain all 3 points this Saturday, and delay the return of Barnet to the Coca Cola League. For the love of football and our fellow man, this cannot be allowed to happen. So tonight and every night please pray to whatever force you believe in, and lets hope that good will prevail, and that travelling Division 2 supporters won't have to endure the open seating hell that is Blunderhill.

I think this issue can only unite all Enfields fans...

My prayer to my god(-dess): Hail Eris, Goddess of Discord! I beseech thee - let the hill-scramblers fail in all their endeavours. Goat to be sacrificed in due course. Amen. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hi IM. As I understand it, Barnet fall short both on total ground capacity, and total number of seats. I believe this rule about getting the work done after being promoted is to appease those clubs of long-term league standard, who if relegated would otherwise never get re-promoted. I'm thinking grounds like Gay Meadow (Shrewsbury) and Layer Road (Colchester).

Have a lookey here: B****t promotion Apparently they have 3 years to remove the slope (which looks pretty doubtful to say the least!). It also looks as if they won't be going to Copthall!

I don't think they can go to Copthall and play League football there because of the running track. That's why they had those plans for retracting stands when going to Copthall was actually their plan.

Cheers MKJ. The grounds standards thing is a vexed question. Certainly at the lower levels I believe they are way too high. But if standards are set for clubs being promoted into a league or division, then all clubs already there should have to meet them as well.

Similarly, if B****t were only a point or two ahead, then it is conceivable that their rival for the title and promotion could have an equal of slightly better ground but be denied promotion, while B****t could go up because of this parachute rule.

Are you saying that we beat them [color:"blue"] 7-0 ?

Oh yes, I had almost forgotten that we beat them [color:"blue"]7-0 !

Yes, that's right, it was [color:"blue"]7-0 that we beat them by.

Ah, happy days, beating that lot [color:"blue"]7-0. That was really good, winning [color:"blue"]7-0 at blunderhill.

After all, [color:"blue"]7-0 is a very good result away from home.
